Pros:
-Animation is good (even though I'm not a big fan of the style)

Cons:

-Not a fan of the MMO RPG elements. This one is purely based on my taste and I can see where a lot of people will disagree with me. So far, most of the main MMO RPG elements are being introduced as plot points for single episodes. I'd be mostly okay with that if they weren't something that seemed even halfway possible or weren't predictable from first mention.
-Character development is lackluster. So far, everybody we've met that has been relevant has been either totally levelheaded and been able to hold their own or has had some sort of mental breakdown before shortly dying.
I'm not trying to make overly critical analyses here since I am only five episodes in. A lot of things could change as I finish the first arc and enter the (rumored worse) second arc.

Huh. I don't find the writing that bad. I can understand the complaints about character development. I'm about 7 episodes in, and that particular aspect of the show does seem lackluster. I'm finding some slivers of philosophy in the writing though, and I understand that the later arcs of the manga delve into that more deeply.

I LOVED it.
Honestly, I can say that it's my new favorite anime. Until I watch something else that rivals its epicness factor.
