-- As opposed to presenting the game like a documentary, the career mode will feature you as the leader of a garage band trying to achieve their dream of opening for Metallica. Animated cutscenes will be featured in between sets to flesh out the storyline. The role of your band will be the cover band that plays the songs before Metallica comes out, much like Aerosmith.

-- Venues include the Los Angeles Forum, Hammersmith Apollo, and Tushino Airfield in Moscow.

-- The game will feature aforementioned rare live footage, setlists and backstage photos, but will also feature Metallifacts, which will act like a pop-up video of sorts for the Metallica songs in the game, so fans can learn more about the inspirations behind the song as a computer performs the song in-game. What I'm wondering is if this is like Jukebox Mode but something that is actually going to be implemented, or if it will just be a bot playing the charts. There will also be lyric lists included for each song.

If the entire group is starting to have their rock meter fail out, the edges of the screen will glow red, much like in FPS games where you are about to die. Depends on how they pull that off, but that could be really cool or SUPER annoying.

Expert Plus: New Drum difficulty. It's a special difficulty for people with a splitter and two kick pedals. Not compatible with World Tour online Leaderboards.

DVD Style Content: Photos, set lists, fan club videos, rare live and behind the scenes footage

New tones: GHTunes is in the game and it offers up exclusive tones from James Hetfields ESP Truckster guitar and Slayers Tom Araya's ESP Bass.

Drum Fill Mode: New cheat that lets you play freestyle drums on song using Metallica drum sounds.

Metallifacts: Watch performances of each track overlaid with Pop-Up Video style windows that points out trivia.

Hopefully this all turns out to be true! Some awesome songs on there, and not just the Metallica ones Can't wait to see the scans.

Also, Expert Plus...

hmm, seems pretty weak actually as of now. Hope they put a lot better songs from the other bands, and a lot better metallica songs. However, it is too early to say anything, so really this post is irrelevant.

edit: am i reading this right? there is going to be the music creator in this game, an exact copy from WT except adding guitar and bass sounds?

edit deux: omg QUEEN!!! WOW. did not see that coming. yes!

Im sure they confirmed the "popular" metallica songs first to get people that only listen to stuff like Nothing Else Matters or Enter Sandman from them, or just generally the 4 albums after Justice.

As to the edit, i think so. Basically its the music creator with the ability to sound like Metallica.

I can confirm. Got mine today as well.

Some nice screenshots in there. They also mentioned that James' Truckster guitar has a setting in the music studio.

So far, this game's shaping up to be quite impressive. Expert plus... Oh boy.

I hope they put it on the PS2 though...

I also hope that I can rig up something better that works for double kick than two RB pedals and a splitter. That may be really tough.

Because, "OMFG THERE IS TOO MUCH METAL"

Seriously, i heard someone say that about GH:WT, and that they weren't buying the game because of that. If anything, GHWT had the least metal of any game in the series...

Also, who was it that called "Turn the Page" on the other GH:metallica thread, that was an epic guess.

On topic: I think i may need a bucket, seriously. Hit The Lights, Slayer, Mastodon...... epic.

In terms of setlist this is turning out a lot better than expected... The music studio still being in worries me though, that it will just be GHWT with Metallica songs like GHA was, nothing new.

Seeing only one song each from their first 3 albums, and 5 songs from the Black Album isn't too encouraging...but they have my money either way.

Slayer, Judas Priest, and Alice in Chains = WIN!

Never heard of Samhain or Michael Schenker Group...has anyone listened to them or have any opinions on them? I would YouTube them but their doing maintenance and I can't watch videos.

Hopefully they're confirming the popular Metallica songs first, before launching into Dyer's Eve, Damage Inc., Disposable Heroes, The Frayed Ends Of Sanity and Fight Fire With Fire.

If so, AWESOME, best GH game by far.
