Slow Ride (184,132)
- use this path
- anywhere from 8-16 points left if i had to guess

Talk Dirty to Me (257,561)
- use this path
- 3rd squeeze is fairly difficult
- 4th squeeze ticks are possible but very hard
- at least 8 points left, maybe more

Hit Me With Your Best Shot (197,888)
- use this path
- Reverse ticks on the 2nd activation (73,744) so +28
- I have never hit the 3rd squeeze--activate on green hold in m57 and squeeze to red in m62 instead
- 5th squeeze, squeeze to yellow hold
- first place path

Story of My Life (427,246)
- use this path
- at least 20 points left that i've had before, but no clue how much more is left

Rock and Roll All Nite (195,616)
- use this path
- Moved first activation back 1 note (to RB) and squeeze to same YB for extra 400 (I think I had 44,144)
- I was able to reverse tick the 3rd activation in my high score run
- 4th activation you can squeeze in the extra RB on the backend but it's a double at 144 bpm so it's tough
- 400 + ticks are most likely possible
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Mississippi Queen (121,714)
- use this path
- top score may be optimal

Schools Out (153,277)
- use this path
- top score may be optimal

Sunshine of Your Love (239,332)
- use this path
- 3rd activation isn't hard if you can fully whammy (which is the hard part)

Barracuda (270,132)
- use this path
- I move the first activation one note forward (the YB) because its easier to squeeze in the green triplet
- Last squeeze you can squeeze in 1 more green (shown now in path)
- At least 4 points remaining

Bulls on Parade (265,603)
- use this path
- Whammy the first activation a little more than the path recommends in order to get full ticks off of the RY (hit the RB note late if you have to avoid overlapping starpower)
- 3rd squeeze move to 1st yellow of measure 62 for a slightly easier double squeeze
- i don't think any points remain but don't know for sure

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

When You Were Young (272,312)
- use this path
- 3rd squeeze is not that easy
- 4th squeeze--hit the YB as late as you possibly can to maximize those reverse ticks
- not sure if more points remain

Miss Murder (292,126)
- use this path
- Glitch ticks on 19-20th and 29-30th notes
- 2nd squeeze is fairly difficult
- at least 2 glitched ticks left

The Seeker (274,407)
-use this path
-i messed up the path, 2nd activation needs to be moved back and activated in m23
- reverse ticks are possible on the 2nd squeeze. i had +36 on my high score run. i would say a max of 8-12 left in the whole song.

Lay Down (241,662)
- Use the 80% path
- Squeeze in the blue on the first activation
- +32 is probably optimal on the 2nd squeeze

Paint it Black (233,740)
- use this path
- 3 double squeezes--not too bad

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Paranoid (329,000)
- use this path
- extra 400 on the 4th squeeze (move it back one note)
- a little less than 400 points remain

Anarchy in the UK (284,241)
-use this path
- Tick glitch the 19-20 note
- at least 10 points remain

Kool Thing (267,460)
- use this path
- maybe ticks left?

My Name is Jonas (309,070)
- use this path
- no more points

Even Flow (284,794)
- use this path
- still a decent amount of ticks left

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Holiday in Cambodia (429,136)
- use this path
- First double squeeze is not that difficult if you use the beat lines
- 4 points left and that's it

Rock You Like a Hurricane (260,193)
- use this path
- i don't think there are any remaining points

Same Old Song and Dance (181,737)
- use this path
- move last squeeze back to blue note and ticks MIGHT be possible on the red hold

La Grange (210,706)
- use this path
- most likely no points remaining

Welcome to the Jungle (243,131)
- use this path
- doubtful if any points remain

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Black Magic Woman (246,394)
- use this path
- ticks probably remain

Cherub Rock (430,014)
- use this path
- reverse ticking the 5th squeeze can be difficult
- ticks probably left

Black Sunshine (234,374)
- use this path
- 240-260 points left if i had to guess

The Metal (198,882)
- use this path
- that 2nd squeeze isn't too difficult--focus on the back end squeeze
- Use JR626s path for 2nd squeeze xxx770--activate on the YB in m34 and squeeze to RB in m38 (path)

Pride and Joy (310,313)
- use this path
- Easy optimal

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Before I Forget (409,322)
- 100% path seems very unlikely because of the BPM increase from the 1st measure
- Use 60% instead
- ticks might be left

Stricken (395,114)
- use this path
- Fairly easy optimal outside of last squeeze

3s & 7s (334,506)
- use this path
- all squeezes are possible in the 100% path so lots of points remaining

Knights of Cydonia (423,619)
- use this path
- 200 or 400 remaining

Cult of Personality (277,978)
- use this path
- 32 reverse ticks on the 1st remain

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Raining Blood (274,799)
- use this path
- activate on the first yellow of the fast YB trill
- not really sure how much is left

Cliffs of Dover (241,243)
- use this path
- still 8 points on last squeeze
- might be extra 200 on 2nd to last squeeze

The Number of the Beast (497,770)
- use this path
- that 1st activation is hard
- 600 + maybe ticks on the solo activation

One (573,489)
- use this path
- 100% looks technically possible but unrealistic

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Quickplay Exclusives (every song has an attainable optimal score)

Sabotage (288,712)
- use this path
- 2nd squeeze can get the red under star power
- last squeeze is tough

Reptilia (225,044)
- use this path
- doubles are tough

Suck my Kiss (225,107)
- use this path
- Really easy

Cities of Flame with Rock and Roll (195,336)
- use this path
- Extremely easy to do

Helicopter (275,886)
- use this path
- 3rd activation double is very hard (200 left)

Monsters (354,370)
- use this path
- Double squeeze on all 4 activations can make it tough

---------------------------------------------------------

Bonus tracks

- use this path
- Glitched ticks 19-20th note
- Last activation you can move back a note for an extra 200
- 200 + ticks left

The supposed extra 400 in Closer is not mathematically possible. Having said that it isn't mathematically possible on Expert either, and if IRC someone did once supposedly get an extra 600 on Expert through some weird glitch.

Also, could you explain what you mean by tick glitching the 19/20th note in Avalancha?

Dave: If you hit a note that also happens to be the note that will changed the multiplier, if you hit it early enough the ticks will register as the new multiplier instead of the old one (In Avalancha's case, they'll register as being under 3X instead of 2X). I think that's what newuser's talking about.

Also, you ought to include info about PS2 for people like me. Especially about missing ticks (Namely, Sabotage. And I know WHERE that tick is dropped, too).

I can never get my whammy calculations to agree with the amount of extra beats on the chart for anything, so if someone else can check this, but just by looking I can see some potential ticks in Black Sunshine? 3rd act, move back so you activate at the start of the hold on m73 and squeeze to the G note before the one that you would otherwise squeeze to.

ok i was hoping you'd be the one to do it . so my remaining questions are:

is there an extra 200 on avalancha's last squeeze?

can you get ticks on same old song and dance by moving the squeeze back 1 note?

is there an extra 200 on metal heavy lady's 2nd squeeze?

who's modified The Metal path gets us xxx,770 and where can I find a link to it?

According to my calculations, you should be able to get an extra 200 on the last activation of Avalancha. I made sure to take into account the slight loss of whammy from the higher BPM. It comes out to 23.18382051 beats of star power for the last activation, and you only need it to last 23.5 beats to get an extra note in. A 100% squeeze would get you an extra .54 beats (but only .25 of that comes from the front end of the activation), putting you over 23.5 beats, meaning the activation is possible. At first I thought it was possible to get ticks too, but since you can only squeeze the front end to get the ticks, the star power will only get you to a maximum of 23.43382051 beats, meaning you have squeeze a minimum of .06617949 beats on the back end of the activation just to get the note under star power.

Edit: Yes, you can get ticks from the red hold at the end of Same Old Song And Dance if you activate on the b in m92. With a 100% squeeze you can make your star power last for 24.57284738 beats (only squeezing the front end), but you only need 24.5 beats to get the red note under star power. A tick is exactly .04 beats, so you can get a maximum of 1 tick (plus the burst for hitting the note early of up to 5 ticks) out of the red note.

wow this is both good news and bad news....good news is that i was right on both of these squeezes...bad news is my 1st place scores are frauds and now i need to improve them

I fixed the information about Avalancha, it's actually not possible to get ticks, you can still get an extra 200 though.

Edit: Yes an extra 200 is possible in Metal Heavy Lady's second activation. A 100% squeeze on both ends of the activation will make your star power last for 21.13309861 beats, but you only need it to last for 21 beats to get the extra 200.

Also, I didn't realized that multiplier tick glitching works when the second note isn't a hold. I thought it also had to be a hold. This definitely makes playing some songs a lot easier to not drop ticks. I thought if I played the next note early and it wasn't a hold then I would lose the ticks. That explains a lot.

Another thing, I realized that it is actually possible to calculate the exact amount of points that are possible on all tick bursts. All you have to know is how the burst works, which we do (If the distance between the center of the note and the spot that you hit it early is X ticks, then X ticks get added to your score as soon as you accumulate 2 ticks past the center of the note). We also know that 2 beats of holds is equal to one note, hence 1 beat is equal to half a note, i.e 25 points at a 1x multiplier. That means that 1 tick is 1/25 = .04 beats. Also, ticks are only accumulated in groups of 2 in GH3.

So to calculate the tick burst from any given activation, convert the front end of the timing window (i.e. hitting the note as early as mathematically possilbe) into beats, and see how many times .04 goes into that number. For example, if you are at 150 BPM, the front end of the timing window is 150/60/8.620689655 = .29 beats. And .29/.04 = 7.25 ticks, or just 7 ticks (drop the remainder). This means at 150 BPM, you will get a maximum of 7 ticks added to your score, i.e. 28 points at a 4x multiplier.

Edit: Also for Same Old Song And Dance, it is extremely difficult to get those ticks. You have to actually make sure you hit the red note either 1, 3, or 5 ticks early. You can't do a 100% squeeze out of the back end, because the will be 6 ticks early, and then ticks won't accumulate until you get 2 ticks past the center of the note (but star power only lasts 1 tick past the center of the note).

Edit2: Note that it is also possible that ticks are impossible on Same Old Song And Dance. Since ticks accumulate in groups of two, it is possible that you have to be a minimum of 2 ticks past the center of the note for any ticks to register. The reason why I said it is possible is because I believe that if you hit the note 1, 3, or 5 ticks early, than 1 tick past the center of the note would be an even accumulation (2, 4, or 6 ticks). I'm not 100% that the game engine works like this though.

It was either piso or JR626 who came up with that path, not really sure which one but it was one of those, thank God they did haha.

I'll do TTFAF tomorrow, it's late and I need to finish homework and I'm tired and grumpy.
