|
|
This guide will show you how to play the Boss Battle songs in GH3 PC like the free boss battles DLC on 360. Keep in mind that this is not the exact same charts as on the 360/PS3, and you are not allowed to submit scores from this on SH under 360/PS3. We might get a section for GH3 PC to submit these scores like the secret on-disc GH1 songs, but for now you can't submit scores from these anywhere on SH.
This guide assumes you already know how to use GHTCP. If you aren't familiar with GHTCP, see this guide by inimitable. The short version for those who are very experienced and can figure the rest out on their own: create new custom songs using the chart/audio from the original boss battles. Here's the full instructions for the rest of us:
- Open GHTCP and load your settings.
- Go to Add > New Song.
- For the song name, enter tombattle.
- For the Audio Track, select DATA\MUSIC\bosstom.dat.xen. (default C:\Program Files\Aspyr\Guitar Hero III\)
- For the Game Track, select DATA\SONGS\bosstom_song.pak.xen. (default C:\Program Files\Aspyr\Guitar Hero III\)
- Press Apply.
- Enter these settings:
Title: "Guitar Battle vs. Tom Morello"
Artist: "Tom Morello"
Year: ", 2007"
- Press Apply.
- Repeat steps 2-8 with the following settings/file paths:
slashbattle
DATA\MUSIC\bossslash.dat.xen
DATA\SONGS\bossslash_song.pak.xen
Guitar Battle vs. Slash
Slash
, 2007
- Repeat steps 2-8 with the following settings/file paths:
devilbattle
DATA\MUSIC\bossdevil.dat.xen
DATA\SONGS\bossdevil_song.pak.xen
Guitar Battle vs. Lou or The Devil Went Down to Georgia
The Charlie Daniels Band
, 1979
- Add tombattle, slashbattle, and devilbattle to a setlist (I'd recommend Download).
- Press Apply Tier Changes.
- File > Execute Actions.

In theory, if you use the GHTCP on a Mac via crossover, would you follow similar steps? _________________

Not really. If you've got the console version, you can download the (free) Boss Battle DLC, which is what you're looking for.
Or you can take the PC boss battle versions into FeedBack and edit them together yourself. _________________

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but this kinda bugged me when i found this tutorial using the search button.
Is there a way "now" to play the entire custom song. Has someone edited the songs to save me some work? _________________

Now if someone could make an app where you give it the chart and it merges the tracks, that would be awesome and allowed. _________________

What if one doesn't have a legit copy so they cannot use GHTCP? |
