Errr so it appears in my excitement I kind of forgot this thread even existed, sorry

New Megadeth song

It's called 1,320 and contains no fewer than 7 guitar solos

It's a far better song than headcrusher with wicked riffs and the aforementioned solos. However some may want to skip over the lyrics

I'm really excited for the new Megadeth album. The two songs I've heard off of it (Headcrusher, 1.320) sound really great. Seems like Chris Boderick was what Mustaine needed. Already sounds a step above United Abominations.

Also, not sure people knew this, but Mastodon and Dethklok are co-headlining a tour across the states with Converge and High on Fire as support. Dates and details can be seen here: http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendId=6075533&blogId=503897324

Very excited for that tour.

Even if I could go I would only see High on Fire, the other bands suck. Mastodon used to be cool.

I have to admit, the new Megadeth song wasn't as bad as the new Slayer song, but it's still not that good, I might give the album a listen though. The new Slayer album though...

Keep up with the times guys!

I posted about Swashbuckle about 10 pages ago. I posted about Mastodon/dethklok about 5 pages ago.

People need to read through before posting up (not so) new stuff. That's why we've had 20 Melodeath segments.

roker, wtf does "Mastodon used to be cool" mean? They still tear your face off.

Remission is their only good album.

It looks like PTH is only playing with them while in Canada. Boo. The majority of other shows are with In Flames, 3 Inches of Blood, and The Faceless.

I agree, most epic concert ever...

I choose none >_>

I've never liked Mastodon. From what I've heard, they sound a lot like Tool, which for me is a bad thing. Are their earlier albums different? If so, I'll reconsider.

The new Megadeth song sounds great. I'll definitely be getting this album.

Oh yeah, I was in St. Pete Florida last weak, which is directly west of Tampa. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see any bands play in their home city. I saw a liger, so I'm happy.

That's 10 pages, I don't know about you but I can't be arsed reading through 10 pages of stuff.

Also, I've been meaning to listen to more Mastodon. Colony of Birchmen and Blood and Thunder have grown on me... But I'll be honest, I can't be bothered most of the time.

Every Mastodon album is a LOT different from the rest.

I'd really just listen to them all. They are on a much much much higher level than Tool. Give them all a try, and then see what you think.

[edit]
10 pages of reading saves 10 pages of recurring topics. It only takes 5 minutes. I've done it before, not hard.

So has anyone heard of the band Electrocution's album Inside the Unreal. It's really growing on me and have been enjoying it for a few months now. Anyone got any recommendations that have the same old school DM approach?

I listened to a song or two from all the Mastodon albums and a few more on YouTube. Blood Mountain and Crack the Skye, I'm just not into. Leviathan was boring and cheesy . Remission was the best so far. It was interesting in some ways, but in other ways it was still pretty boring. I'm liking Lifesblood for the most part. I might decide to get that album. I can understand why guitarroker only likes Remission.
