Since vocal charts aren't availalbe yet (to the best of my knowledge), I made a little something to help myself with pathing.
http://i371.photobucket.com/albums/oo160/endoKarb/ForWhomtheBellTolls-1.png
Basically I recorded myself playing both vocals and another instrument (easy bass in this case) then using the video I charted the vocal phrases one by one over the easy bass chart.
Vocal part are charted in red, while freeform are either yellow or blue depending on the type.
It's not perfect, but it should be precise enough, most phrases start and end on beat so it's not too difficult to chart them manually.
Tell me what you think, I could make more if you find them useful.
EDIT: Played a bit with my chart:

This should be the optimal score. 16k point under SP + 2 FF |

That last chart looks really good! The only foreseeable problem is making a chart for every song on every instrument, but I'm sure it could happen in time. _________________

I love this idea. I hate having to sing the same 5-6 min song a bunch of times just to find out what path I should use. That's pretty much the reason why I don't play Vocals with SP paths.
Also, hurry up deleting the other thread you created on accident before some dumbass decides to post in it. _________________

OK, I'm glad you like this. It take quite some time to make one of these.
Here's the one for "The Unforgiven":
http://i371.photobucket.com/albums/oo160/endoKarb/TheUnforgiven-1.png
The last phrase run 5.5 beats longer than the chart.
This time I used Expert bass. Easy chart looks all the same, it doesn't take much to get lost while charting. I still don't see any particular benefit in using a certain instrument or difficulty over another.
Actually it would be best if I could just use empty chart of each song, but I wouldn't know where to find them. |

I mean charts without the notes, but with the correct number of bars. _________________

I still don't really get it. Seems like a wasted effort (but it's a good effort) when paths can be written much more simply. I don't think charting this way would be useful unless they brought out vocal charts with the pitch lines and exact times and that kind of crap so we could determine optimal paths. I like your idea but it's just really confusing (for me) to look at those charts. When I open up a guitar path I can tell what I'm looking at. Hope I'm not coming off as a dick but I don't mean it in that way. _________________

They are indeed quite confusing to look at. My idea wasn't to use them as a mean to share paths though, just to plan them.
Written notation for vocals works really well as it is. (activate on "white whale" is a lot easier to understand than activate on the 13th RY chord or whatever).
Also, you can plan optimal path with this kind of chart since vocal star power work exactly like guitar star power. What makes vocal pathing difficult is that you never know exactly how long is your SP going to last. My chart resolves that problem. _________________
