I am a fairly reasonable vocalist (expert in ps2, hard/expert in ps3) and i sing with a normal voice, but in high-pitched lyrics i use my girly voice ( like dro0bles' one, no offense intended ;) ) . Should I use it every time i sing, even in low-pitched stuff? |

No offense taken! There's no "right" or "wrong" for this situation; you should just sing in the register that's most comfortable for you. Sometimes I heed not this advice for the sake of entertainment on my videos. But if you're trying to pass/5*/FC a song, you're always best choosing the most accessible octave. I'd say you should only sing in your higher register if it's most comfortable, or if you can't hit it in a lower octave. Hope this helps! _________________

I prefer referring to it as Falsetto - otherwise I would be very 'girly' ;)
I usually sing low parts in their correct octave, but I have found that using falsetto means I get less jumping around in the pitch, and a more constant tone. Especially in freeforms, singing falsetto allows me to get a more precise pitch.
I would advise to sing wherever you are most comfortable in most cases. It's not inherently 'better' to sing high. _________________
