my guess

You're right. Others still are arguable, and that's me just asking myself "is this harder than Under Pressure?" and that answer is yes, definitely.

Why did they rate Under Pressure so highly on difficulty for vocals? It's really not all that difficult once you know how it goes. It took me 3 attempts to do and there are some songs that are rated lower that have taken me many more attempts to FC. It makes sorting by difficulty sort of pointless. Sure, you get a rough idea how difficult the songs are but if i'm looking for the hardest song to play by using the difficulty ratings I expect it to be the most difficult one when I come to play it. If we;re talking about the hardest songs to FC in Band Hero to FC then I agree with those 3 songs.

Vocal tiering is incredibly subjective, always has been. It's definitely the hardest instrument to rank(same goes for Rock Band too), so what might be an easy song for someone may be very hard for someone else. Sometimes there just isn't an obvious "hardest song" in a game, so what may be the hardest for me may not be the hardest for you, and vice-versa.

I think the general consensus though is that Under Pressure IS way too high-tiered. I think it got that rating mainly because it's Freddy Mercury and Queen, and we all know how insane of a singer he is. It also might be easier for some of us since it's one of Queen's greatest hits....almost everyone knows the song, so it might not be as hard. Like for me, I love the song and knew it like the back of my hand, so it didn't take me very long to FC. Someone else that might not know the song would have a very rough time. I do agree that there's harder songs, though.

I have yet to get Band Hero, although I do intend on it(just too many songs in that game I want to sing badly). Don't know about Turn on the Lights(never heard it), but ABC is a young Michael Jackson, so of course that's hard, and American Pie definitely is as well.

Apologies ... getting off topic, but my personal experience (on a Wii) is in line with werelord's in that the Guitar Hero 5 engine seems much tighter, although I keep reading that the case is otherwise.

Certainly the songs I have imported from World Tour and Smash Hits are a little easier when done on the original disc. I experimented by swapping the discs in the same session and tried 'Stillborn' four times in a row (2xWT, 2xGH5) - two FCs using the World Tour disc, -3 and -1 with the GH5 disc.

Apol's again for going off topic.

It could just be different on the Wii when considering the old games. The Wii and PS2 were basically confirmed to be easier than 360/PS3 on the past games, so if the tightness of GH5 is the same on all systems (sans PS2), the PS3/360 could feel an ease in difficulty where the Wii discovers an increase. It's unfortunate that happened for you, but it's good we're all on the same page now. I'd like to test out the game on the Wii and see if its actually harder, or if the other games were just easier for you.

Well I don't know about others but I have played WT at least on both Wii and 360 and I didn't notice any difference not saying that there isn't one. However, if there was a difference I am glad that we're all equal now...I hope.

Thought I'd give my own impressions about Turn Off the Light. Pretty much the only song I was able to play aside from working on what you see on my GIF.

BRUTAL, yet I managed a sightread pass. Getting a will be hard for me on this monstruosity. The highway goes really fast, like on Fame or What I Got. Visually, the chart has things I've never seen myself, Superstition would barely get close to it. But all in all, seems an easier song to learn than Superstition.

Edit: Without mentioning that it's another reason why I don't want an engine which forces people to articulate lyrics.

I only played a handful of songs on Band Hero, but I don't think I can give an accurate assessment yet because I had some trouble calibrating it to feel exactly like GH5 did (even when I matched the calibration numbers to those in GH5, it still felt off).

That said, this game does seem tricky. I had immense trouble with American Pie, and I expected that to be fairly straightforward. And of course, ABC is anything but simple as Do Re Mi. Judging from the scores posted on ScoreHero, the community still has a lot of work to do.

I want to see a full community FC by the time I come back!

Glad to see you feeling the same as me on American Pie. Keeping combo on it is a nightmare. An 8+ minute long song with identical phrases that never sound the same. Yuckies.

After yesterday, looks like I just concluded that ABC is THE hardest song on Band Hero IMO. Maybe it's cause well...I don't know the song. But, comparing the sightreads, I had a pass on TOtL, and it was different with ABC. I have to downshift most of Michael's parts by TWO FUCKING OCTAVES to get 'em on my comfort zone, just to get completely lost on the swapping between singers. A terror.

I found American Pie pretty easy?
Granted I only sing on medium, but usually I suck, but I almost FC'd it my first try on vocals. I'd try on expert but I'm a pretty terrible vocalist as it is.
