Neversoft likes to homogenize riffs (ie, not chart slight differences) and tends to overchord, but HMX seems to LOVE their random strums (Ramblin' Man main riff, Battery post-solo riff, and Everlong) ...

if you don't have peace sells, i'd recommend that one over death magnetic for a metal album. it's the better album musically for sure, and alot more varied and fun to play.
