Title basically defines the entire subject, but I wanted to know what people think about music videos. I honestly think that they're great, but they can be kind of disappointing when they're absolutely terrible and you can't interpret the songs the way you used to when you listen to them. I haven't seen many recent music videos, but the best ones I've seen are either animated or simply nostalgic. Honestly, some of my favorites aren't necessarily my favorite songs, but they seem well put together in terms of direction.
My Chemical Romance - Welcome to the Black Parade (inb4shitstorm of emo music hate)

All of MCR's videos are well put together imo, but this one sticks out for me. Too bad youtube is littered with low quality videos and Runescape Music Videos though.
Flobots - Handlebars

Chronic Future - Time and Time Again

Kind of disappointed this band isn't very well known. They're a great indie band. _________________

I haven't seen a newer music video in a long ass time, but I know that Hangar 18, Enter Sandman, and Thriller are three of my all-time favorites. Great videos. |

Gonna be predictable on this one and say "Thriller". Haven't seen a music video in a really long time though. |

All of the Mastodon music videos are really good. They all take the lyrics of the song and then twist the meaning of the lyrics around to have a completely different story.
ex:
Sleeping Giant is most likely about a volcano the main guy of the story comes across on his journey. The music video is about putting a body to sleep in some sort of time chamber and watching life grow from it.
All of The Residents minute movies are great too. Those most likely win as the most bizarre or weird.
I'll think of more later. _________________

I hardly watch music videos because when I listen to music I like to produce my own imagery in my head and when I watch a music video for a song I really love it almost never fits what I imagine in my head when I listen to it. However, there are exceptions:
NIN - Closer

Amazing. So twisted and dark. Matches the song almost perfectly. Probably my favorite.
And while I'm not too fond on the music itself, I really love OK Go's videos. They are so creative and fun to watch.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qybUFnY7Y8w (no it's not the treadmill one)
Muse - Knights Of Cydonia
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_sBOsh-vyI
Brilliantly done. Not only does it take the epic level to another step but it also adds the hilarity factor.
I can't think of any more atm. I'll probably post some more later. |

I have to agree with the OP and say that Handlebars is great. It's probably my favorite music video ever.
Also, Feel Good Inc. is definitely second. Amazing stuff right there. _________________

Would You Be Impressed? by Streetlight Manifesto. It's a cool little animated video, great concept.
Also their video for We Will Fall Together is really cool.
For some reason, I really like the video for Fireflies. Not really sure why. _________________
