Is any progress being made on the Wii version. All I hear about are 360, PC, and PS2. |

Since this is the GH3 customs discussion in general, could you put some sort of progress indicator for each platform as to how far/close we are to being able to play songs reliably?
Something like this:
PS2: ||||||||| 90%
360: |||||||| 80%
WII: ||| 30%
PC: ||||||||| 90%
MAC: 0% Release date Dec. 10th
^ with whatever appropriate values there are. those are just guesses.
That would make it easier for the non-1337 hackers (like me) to keep track of how soon each platform will be available without asking all the time. _________________

I tried putting in the Holy Diver(KE cover) chart over Slow Ride, but with the Slow Ride audio, and it froze on the loading screen.
Hmm... |

Quick numbers (in my opinion)
| = 10%, - = 5%
PS2: ||||||||| 90%: Decent customs (beat, time signature, lead charts, and SP in some minutes). Still no multiplayer things, but it's only a matter of time.
360: ||||||- 65%: No customs, but if there isn't any special thing, the tools from the PS2 version should be easily portable.
Wii: ?%: I don't know anything about it, and also I didn't see anyone to try anything. So 0% probably...
PC: ||||||- 65%: Same as 360 version, the files are almost identical.
MAC: 0% (Not released).
PS3: 0%: No burnt games.
For the final users, the only customizable version is the PS2 one. And the process is still incredibly hard for the most part of the forum... _________________

Why you're trying to add the file list to the PAK file? You should add the QB file that you've modified.
And also, is the file that you're trying to add 2GB big?
EDIT: I saw that the tutorial is wrong.
You shouldn't write the name of the file list (in the tutorial, slowride.pak.ps2-list.txt), you should write the name of the QB file that you've modified! _________________

I only did it because the code asked for a .txt file, not a .qb. Plus FoG did it with the list file and it worked. |

There seems to be very little information out there about the Wii disc format, and I don't know of any tools to read it. It's not a standard ISO9660 disc. I have taken a brief look at it, but I didn't really feel like trying to break yet another container format (the Wii disc format) when there's other versions to play with.
Until there's a way to read/write the Wii disc images GH3 custom songs on the Wii won't be possible, although I suppose you may be able to hard-inject the files into the disc image, but that's cumbersome.
I don't have a modified Wii so I wouldn't be able to test it, and don't have a lot of interest in doing so, however I doubt that the actual qb file structure would be much or at all different to the other versions.
In short: find a way to read the files off the disc image (or an .iso of it) and I'll be happy to take a look, however it's pretty low on my priority list at the moment. |

I just did put "TXT" as a generic extension. The PAK editor is not specific for the charts PAK files.
It should be something like...
Code: | pakeditor -replace slowride.pak.ps2 0 slowride1.qb (or the name of your modified QB file) slowride1.pak.ps2 |
Then after this, just copy the slowride1.pak.ps2 file to the "songs" folder, remove the slowride.pak.ps2, and rename slowride1.pak.ps2...
Yes, I know that it's too hard to just get a working custom _________________
