Grace Cathedral Park - In The Evenings of Regret

Pretty sure that's the album. Give it a listen, if you can find it.

If you have a chocolate bar in your heart I suggest seeking medical attention.

Metric, Metric, Metric. A woman's voice soothes me more than a dude's voice.

Ceremonium - Nightfall In Heaven A beautiful instrumental piece by this fairly unknown Death Metal band. Non-fans of the genre (or Metal in general) would most likely enjoy this track. Honestly, you'll surprise yourself. I always get a wave of sadness when I listen to it.

ZZ Top - Asleep In The Desert Off my favorite Top album Tejas.

Celtic Frost - Winter (Requiem, Chapter Three: Finale) The final track to their final album. You almost get lost in this one.

Behemoth - Hell Dwells In Ice Despite their recent albums, Behemoth started out as a much more tame Black Metal band. This gem of a track caught me off guard. Soft, spoken vocals backed by an acoustic guitar.

I can fall asleep to anything, but these are the songs I put on loop (with some others) when I want to relax, possibly take a few shots of Jack and just drift off.

Mellow as fuck.

Listen to Rusted Wheel, Little Lover's So Polite, Melatonin, all great ones.

And check out their all their songs, there are more like this.
Don't you dare mention SSP and mellow without saying Three Seed :P Three Seed is the most calming on the album.

Just be sure Bladecatcher isn't on your playlist. I had it on and my dream went to hell. Since the vocals are MRLEKRELARARESFJDFGKLDFJGFLDGJF

That is the greatest and most accurate description I've ever read of Bladecatcher, now if we got that as DLC, I think singers would have a seizure.

It has to be instrumental and not too heavy, otherwise I find myself focusing far too much on the words and noise... so I've got a playlist full of post-rock, ambient and experimental stuff that I play when I can't sleep.

On second thought, I should stop listening to A7X when I sleep. I had a dream where I went to my friend,Peter, in Illinois and on the way my dad and I got detoured into the city of Chicago where we had to get our house's items confiscated and shipped to Brookfield, WI. via a UPS flat rate shipping box. When we were floating down the Chicago River my friend, Mark, gave us 5 foot by 2 foot pieces of gum (wtf). Once we got home the only thing left of our house was the plywood and my CRT monitor that I gave away (It haunted me in my dreams!). So I find where they (the people who took over the US and ships everyone home via UPS) live and smash one dudes head with the CRT (you know how they weigh a million tons). Then 5 years later I was at my friends house, Noah, and the band A7X or Pantera (must've been listening to Walk) came into his house. And that's the end. Thank you.

I should start listening to slower paced music when I sleep.

QFT. I can sleep to some Buckethead songs like Soothsayer, Padmasana, Big Sur Moon, etc. Other instrumentals that are good to sleep to:
Randy Rhoads- Dee
Steve Vai- For the Love of God
Santana- Europa
The Allman Brothers Band- Jessica

These are just of the top of my head, I know much more instrumentals but I don't sleep to music, since I just can't. The only sound that can be there while I'm trying to sleep is the sound of a clock, but I prefer complete silence.

If I would listen to something to sleep, it would be Marilyn Manson's album Mechanical Animals. If that album can't get you to sleep, then I don't know what can.
