I have no idea if there's anyone reading this from Cardiff or the surrounding area, but there is a GH tourney coming up soon. It will be part of an all-day event run by Game Over at Buffalo Bar.
See the Facebook event for full details and news:

Basically we run a monthly competition night, picking one game per night usually (previous trouneys being Street Fighter 4, Tekken 6, Goldeneye and Mario Kart 64) and the intention was to make December's a GH night, but it being Xmas the main guy organising it decided to expand it to an all-dayer with about 7 different individual tournaments and probably a grand prize for whoever does best across all 7.
Full details are still being figured out so please check the FB page for more news, but at the moment it sems likely that the competition will be played as a knock-out competition using the Pro Face Off mode on GH5 (including some DLC and ported songs). |

Sorry, I haven't had the prizes confirmed but I'm fairly certain they won't be worth travelling any great distance for.
For a guide, the biggest prize win so far consisted of a £20 bar tab, a £10 GAME voucher and a Game Boy Advance.
Its more of a social get-together, most of the previous winners have seemed happy enough to earn the respect of the rest of the contestants. |

UPDATE: the guitar hero event will start at 5.15 approx.
Format will be pro face off on GH5.
Unfortunately the venue is not licensed for under 18s so its grownups only. |

Hi, the tournament went off pretty well.
Apparently.
Unfortunately I slipped on the ice outside the venue while waiting for it to start, and ended up in hospital, having fractured my cheekbone in three places, and missed the whole thing. Have been discharged today.
I'm told the tourney was a major success, the GH event was pretty good, I don't think anyone from scorehero turned up though.
Because the organiser is a good friend of mine (and my brother-in-law) he was guttd that I missed it, so he'll be organising another GH event in the new year, I will post a new event when I have the details for it. |
