Official Season 7 Hard/OB League Signup Thread

This is the official hard and medium signup thread for Season 7 of the SH Leagues. If you wish to participate, you must post in this thread.

We will not be taking submissions after week 1 for the leagues.

NEW PLAYERS - Please read the FAQ first!

WHEN? Season Seven week 1 will kick off Sunday, November 25th
Duration? Standard 4 weeks + 2 or more weeks for playoffs.

What are my league choices? We will be running the following leagues this season.

All Systems Expert (AAA, AA and A)- Guitar Hero 3 (Open signup - Qualify Placement)
All Systems Open Hard (OB) - Guitar Hero 3 (Open Signup)
All Systems Hard (B) - Guitar Hero 3 (Qualified Signup)
All Systems Medium (C) - Guitar Hero 3 (Qualified Signups)

Please refer to the faq for a description of each league.

Yes - this means no GH2/80s leagues this season. We apologize in advance if this dissapoints you greatly. We want to focus our efforts on where we feel the majority of players want to spend their time. Plus, we also feel that having a GH3 league as well as GH2/80s league will thin out the number of players in general across leagues. We realize many of you may not have GH3. Also note: Any league/division that does not get at least 25 signups will be dropped!

I see its already started! Am I too late to sign up? You are not too late. We will continue to take signups through week 1. However, unlike previous seasons, we will close signups at the end of week 1 (Aug 25). At that time this thread will be locked.

What does open signup/qual signup/etc mean? Returning players should be familiar, and new players should be clued in by the faqs. Leagues with open signups are open for anybody to join up. Leagues with qualified signups mean that while I will take your name down, myself or elx will need to review your scores to ensure you are not overly competitive for the league. If we feel you are too good for that league, we will PM you and bump you up. Qualify league means you can signup openly, and once you submit your week 1 score, we will place you in the appropriat division.

Will there be twists this season? No. Much to Barfo's dissapointment, elx and rabies out-voted him and decided to run a season with no twists as an experiment. There are several reasons for this, and I won't divulge them all, but two of them are that fact that many of you hate them anyway, and we figure those working on GH3 don't want to waste time working for a good score on a twist when you are still trying to work on a good score for a song in general.

Can I compete in multiple leagues? No, you can only compete on one difficulty

What do I need to do to signup? Merely post a reply in the appropriate thread stating the following:

Difficulty of choice.
If you are a new or returning player - returning players should note the last season they participated.

You can consider yourself a returning player if you submitted scores for the majority of at least 1 season. If you have only submitted 1 or 2 weeks for one season, consider yourself a new player.

EDIT (-Barfo): Oops, in our haste to put up signups we totally forgot about Open Hard (OB) league. Yes we are running those, sign up in this thread for that. If you are a new player open hard is all songs played at hard difficulty but anyone can enter, so you typically get lots and lots of Full Combos and scores with a lot of squeezes. Typically, the competition level is going to be higher than in the lower divisions of Expert, so if you are a borderline player who is bumped up from hard, you may wish to switch to expert instead.

Um, something doesn't look right. What happened to the Open Hard(OB) league? I don't see it mentioned at all in this thread or in the FAQ. Can someone please clarify if there is one or not? Thank you.

EDIT:If there is an OB league this season, I'll join that, but if not...I don't know if I want to try out expert yet or not. Not sure why there wouldn't be one, though.

I was in the 80's season I don't recall which division though. I think open hard?

Anyways, Ill do expert - returning player.

Just realized the topic said Hard/Medium, sorry elx. Although I would like to do hard, not sure if I would qualify or not though.
