|
|
I get paid on Thursday and I'm either thinking of buying a new 360 game, or a PS3 and a game.
Looking for some input and suggestions as to what I should get.
Game suggestions for the 360 (Where I already own one)
Pros / Cons of PS3
Game suggestions for PS3.
Anyone want to shed some light? |

If you like a nice challenge, get Megaman 9 in the XBL Arcade.
AMAZING game, very hard, and its built to be like Megaman 2.
Its my favorite megaman, next to 2. _________________

I have Megaman 3 for NES and I still can't pass it haha. It's ridiculous. I hate how all the old games are incredibly hard but all the new ones are so easy to beat. Like, Gears Of War 2 on Insane = nothing. Like, easy as fuck.
But yeah, I was leaning more toward actual like.. disc games, big titles more so. I'll definitely give that a DL though and try it out. |

Well I dont have an Xbox, so ill give insight with the ps3. With a Ps3 you get free online service, great system, works like a computer of sorts, good graphics, and all that good stuff. Thing is, its expensive, occasionally if your online it can freeze up, sometimes it gets really warm. I suggest, if you have the money of course, go for the 80 gb. Its got backward compatibility (which pwns), plus you have 40 gb more of free space (for not much more IIRC). So if you have a ps2, you can immediately play them on your ps3. Theres alot of good games out for the ps3 (and alot of bad I think). The most recent that alot of people are enjoying is LittleBigPlanet, plus its ps3 exclusive, so thats the only way your gonna get it. I think Lego:Batman is a kickass game myself. If you like shooters, COD4 on ps3 is good, theres some others too but I dont really play em lol. _________________

Little big planet is an extraordinary game, but I don't think it is worth buying the system just for it. If you are also a fan of MGS4, Resistance, and a few other exclusives, then the PS3 is a great system. Comparing the systems, I find that the PS3 is a superior system with incredible games, but there is almost nothing being done to support it. It has very few events online and only a few of my friends have PS3 and having friends who play on the same console make it a whole lot funner. _________________

I have had a 360 for 2+ years now and do the majority of my gaming, if not all, on it. I bought an 80 gig PS3 two weeks ago and here is my opinion.
The PS3 is nice, but I will probably use it mainly for Blu-Ray movies and playing those titles that are exclusive to Sony. The fact that most games are cross platform means making the decision about which platform to buy for, especially if the games perform identically on both consoles. I am not addicted to achievements but I do compete at a casual level with some people on my friends lists so any cross platform game I buy, will probably be for 360, unless there is some benefit to buying it on PS3. I would not be surprised if Sony, and its cell processor, could create better gaming experiences on cross platform titles in time but as of now I don't see any huge differences. Until then the majority of my gaming purchases will be for 360.
I do really like my PS3, and am glad I bought it, but having recently purchased an new Panasonic plasma that came with a free Blu-ray player, i am kind of feeling like I could have done without it for a while longer. I know I would have bought one eventually, which is why I don't regret it, but if you are like me and already have a big investment in your 360, (achievements, peripherals and games), you will probably not view you PS3 with the same excitement that you had when you first bought the 360.
I am not really a fanboy, I have no doubt that if I had started with the PS3 I would be saying the same about it in relation to buying a 360. Aside from the Blu-ray, the PS3 dosen't offer that much more than my 360 so I would base my decision on how much you like the exclusive game line-up, Blu-ray and other things related to PS3.
I remember when the differences between Nintendo and Genesis, or 64 and PSOne were so different that you really did need both, but with today's consoles, at least PS3 vs. 360, i am not so sure. _________________

I have a correction to make. The new PS3's in production (80GB and 160GB) are NO LONGER backwards compatible with PS2 titles.
All the other models have been discontinued. Also, just a tip for anyone listening. There is an easy way to tell whether a model is PS2 compatible. Count the USB ports on the front, TWO ports means the console is not backwards compatible (among other things) and FOUR means that it is.
EDIT: One more tid bit.
I'm talking about the "new" 80gb models (released in August of this year). The original 80gb models from MGS4 and before were compatible. _________________

Well besides all the awesome exclusives ps3 has. The online community is alot better than xbox seeing as you don't have like hundreds of little 8-10 year old kids running around and being generally annoying like they are known to be. Also its free so in the long run ps3 is 100 times cheaper than xbox360. |
