I've seen some YouTube videos of people playing GH/RB using a Les Paul controller and they have been really loud, not the music, the guitar. The clicks the strum bar and frets make are really friggin loud. My Les Paul barly makes a sound unless you really beat on it. Does anyone know why this is?

It's either they're strumming really hard, or their guitar is closer to the mic when they were recording.

You know how they say "the camera adds ten pounds"?
Well, the webcam adds ten decibels.
It's just a phenomenon where the guitar clicking seems way louder in the recording than how loud you were actually playing. Mostly due to shitty recording equipment.

I could be wrong, but I'd say not HARD, but DISTINCT. All high end players I've seen strum like this.... it keeps tempo.

The option of taking out the clicker in the GH3 les paul has been confirmed working. But, I know what you mean. Personally, I think I either notice a difference (better) in the noise levels of the SG vs. LP or I lrnd2strumquiet

I think morandi just sits really close to his cam, and it kinda sounds like its echoing in that vid. Personally, I prefer vids that use a capture card and have no clicking. It's no less impressive if I don't hear the CLACKCLACKCLACK, and sometimes I like to hear the song. I dunno, that's just my opinion. I know some people who think the clicking is an essential part of every GH vid.

I know for a fact that some Les Pauls strum louder than others. One of my LP's is VERY silent, and makes a tiny little muffled click even when you slam it down. My other LP, is loud as hell. These are both for the 360, but when I had the Wii version, that LP was in the middle of my 2 current ones.

Watching videos of notes disappearing is nothing without the strum bar clicking. Videos are even better with super loud fretting.

Tons of people have commented on my videos saying I strum too loud. I don't actually, but the videos sound like I'm banging as hard as I can on the strum bar. Why?

- I'm standing right next to my camera when playing.
- My camera's mic is ridiculously sensitive to any sound.
- The perspective of being in a room with someone playing and watching gameplay while trying to listen to the game is different.

You're going to hear some kind of clicking in any GH/RB vid that isn't recorded by capture card/DVR/some other direct feed setup.

I have a les paul and its obnoxious. I don't strum hard at all. After a while though it quieted down. I think maybe you just have to wear down the strum bar lol.
