I just finished watching a report of superstitions in sports adn wondered if anybody here has any GH related superstitions.

I for one will never play in the Blackout Bar, will always restart if I miss the first note(even on a song with no chance of FCing), and I will always play the song playing in the backround of the opening menu as a warmup song

I almost always play every non-bonus song in the venue it appears in when playing through Career mode... 1st tier songs in Battle of the Bands, 2nd tier in Rat Cellar, etc.

I play every song with the Cherry SG, except Six, which I use my old SG for because I just seem to do better with it. I used to do the song in the background thing, but FTK shows up too much and I hate that song. There's also a certain way I stand where I lean against the side of my bed.

I do this with the encore songs, with the exception of war pigs, I just don't feel right finishing TIGRYT and not seeing the drummer explode

Using my GH1 SG, I have done the following in actual runs:

Missed last note of SCoM
Missed last note of HSB (first time)
Randomly fired off starpower in completely useless spots (before Arterial Black solo for instance) countless times

But I get stuff in practice much quicker on it...

Practice mode: GH1 SG
Actual playthrough: GH2 SG

when I first read MuDvAyNe's comment about playing background songs as warm-ups, ^this was a problem that immediately came to my mind

Do you have to wear shoes because your socks make you slide on the carpet? That happens to me the way I lean against my bed...

Also, I play with my guitar at my waist, not my chest. I usually tighten my abs and brace the guitar against them during fast strumming.

If I get an itch at some point of a song, I know I'm doing good.

Um a few I guess:

Always wash my hands right before i start playing.
Never go to Blackout Bar.(due to lagginess, not really superstition)

I'll try to think of more later.

Exactly what I was going to say. I don't think they are superstitions per se, but a matter of guitar cleanliness and playability.

I will not play in Blackout Bar unless I'm playing through Career Mode from start to finish. It doesn't matter how good I am at "X" song; I'll manage to screw it up horribly somehow in the Blackout Bar.

When I choose a guitar for my character, it must look identical to the one I'm using (ie: I'm using my Cherry SG, Axel gets one too. I use my Frontman, Axel gets the Ebony X-plorer). If it does not, my playing suffers. Or maybe I'm just OCD.

My girlfriend dropped my pants once when I deployed Star Power. The activities that followed caused me to fail Jordan before I even passed the 2nd Verse.

Another time, I was playing "Red Lottery" when my black cat dashed between my legs, causing me to trip. As I fell, my hand knocked a saltshaker off of the nearby table. Simultaneously, my Flying V flew out of my hands and shattered my TV screen, resulting in seven months of bad luck. Needless to say, I don't play Red Lottery anymore.

Back in the day when I first got into Guitar Hero I would start every session with a run of Killer Queen. Of Course that was back when FC'ing that song on expert looked impossible...........I think I have 10th on that song now. lol.

Also, I very rarely play guitar hero without a bit of THC in my system.

I dont care if that makes me play better, or just makes me think that I play better, but im not complaining about any of my scores. And some of my best records of all time including most of my 1st places for easy and medium while in that state.

I play topless. Not kidding. The SG is more secure against my skin than against my t-shirt or whatever. Helps a heap with alt-strumming.
