Can anyone vouch for this being an extremely good headset? I still have the new version of the xbox360 wired headset but the mic won't stay attached to the actual headset, it still works but it's getting annoying. I also finally have the money for one, it's $40 on amazon, and I am strongly considering it.

Turtle beach ones are a bit more expensive but well worth it. I heard the official wireless headset takes longer to charge than its battery lasts

My brother has one and I used it.
I think that because it's wireless, some quality may be suffering. But don't quote me on that.
Plus, extremely uncomfortable but I think it's because I have big ears.

So probably feels fine for the average person.
If you have the money, go for it.
Or look into a better one.

It's slightly uncomfortable, but the second you start playing you won't notice it whatsoever. It doesn't connect to some RB2 drum sets. The battery doesn't last too long, but just remember to charge it whenever you aren't using it. I would say like 6 or 7 hours of use? I don't know for sure. It works well for me, good quality. It's not as easy to mute or change volume on as a wired ones are, but it's just something you get used to.

It's just something that you'll have to get used to rather than something you won't like.

I've had mine for 2 years and it's been awesome. I don't think quality suffers at all, when i first got it i was asking if people on my friends list could tell the difference and they all said my voice was more clear than before. I can hear everybody just as well as i could with a wired one if not better. I can imagine it being uncomfortable though if you had big ears, it does come with 2 or 3 different sized ear pieces but I don't remember the sizes between being a whole lot different. The range on it is really good too. I'd say its about 30-40 feet. 40 dollars is a good deal, I paid 60 for mine.

Edit: Oh yeah, forgot about battery life. I'd say I'm getting around 9 or 10 hours out of it per charge. If it runs out during a game I'll let it charge for 20 minutes or so and it usually lasts the rest of the night. Just remember to plug it in when you're done.

I have one and it's tough to get used to at first, but after a while you get used to it and like having it. It's battery is good, but I prefer to charge it every night. I use it everyday, and charge everynight. It was well worth it. I've had two normal wired headsets break, but this one is durable. If you sit on it by accident, it doesn't break. That is how I broke my two wired ones. You will love it, trust me. But if you can afford a turtle beach, I would suggest that.

Alrighty thanks for the replies everyone, I have decided to tape up my headset and I will buy this if my headset permanently breaks; I decided to get a new version of either my drumset or a headset, whichever breaks first is what I'm gonna buy.

I love mine. My only complaint is the battery life is somewhat small. It fits my ears perfect, and I've got some pretty big ones (enough to pick up a few local channels )

I'd say save up a little more and get Turtle Beaches. You'll love those things. My friend has a pair and uses those all the time, and they help like crazy in almost every game you play. You hear things you never heard before, and it really ups the experience. If you turn, the noise actually "turns" with you. Say you're playing Call of Duty, and someone shoots to your right. You hear it a little in your left, but a LOT in your right. It helps out on Search and Destroy for sure. You can hear people breathing in those things.

The noise still "turns" (lack of a better descriptive word, sorry) without them through a TV speaker, but it is harder to notice without a big TV set/quality speakers.

If you have to get the Wireless, get it, but if you can, get Turtle Beaches.

From what I heard it has trouble working with 3rd party controllers. namely madcatz type stuff. Lot of people been making custom arcade sticks using 3rd party pcbs for sf4 and I heard alot wont work with the wireless headset. i dont understand why or which ones..

So does anyone know if this will sync with the MadCatz drumset? That was going to be my next question, seems pretty good though.

yeah that looks like a problem lol, not a big deal though since I am a guitarist and the LP has a sync button...

I guess this is a better accessory for playing games OTHER than GH/RB, but that's not an issue for me when I get Unreal Tournament III so woot, might buy this and UT3 when I get $70 to have leftover cash

I'm confused... why wouldn't the wireless headset work with 3rd party controllers? As far as I can tell, it syncs with the 360 directly, not with the controller. At least, that's how I synced mine up.

The only thing I know about headsets is that Wired ones tend to break really easily and really fast.

That's what I thought too, maybe you're right

Yeah my mic is about to break so I just taped it in place for the time being.
