I just listened to the newest Killswitch Engage album and I like it. There are a lot of haters saying it isn't heavy enough but I think it's just enough. I think many of these songs would be fun to play in Guitar Hero too.

Please share your thoughts about their new album!

Here are some songs:
Never Again (Has a solo!)
Take Me Away (Pretty calm song, nice intro.)
Starting Over (Their newest single.)

Topic should be merged to either hardcore or metal, though it may not necessarily fit since it's neither hardcore nor metal.

KSE has been disappointing on the whole for me. The only song that was mildly appealing was My Curse.

Yes, I myself have never really been a Killswitch Engage fan. A bit too heavy for me to enjoy. Although maybe ill enjoy these songs

I'm waiting till I actually have the album before I listen to the stuff, however I have heard one of the songs (early download from Roadrunner) "Reckoning" which I think is a great song. I'm looking forward to the release, should be great.

What stuff have you listened to? Have you heard any of the following, "End of the Heartache", "Arms of Sorrow", "Holy Diver", "My Last Serenade", "Rose of Sharyn" or "Fixation on the Darkness"?

I guess if you don't like any of the above then yeah, KSE arn't for you.

Yeah, I heard this new album is supposed to be tamer.

On the other hand, KSE has to be in my top 5 favorite bands ever.

I'm not a huge KSE fan, but I like it. Someone needs to make a playlist out of all those songs...

I recently have really been falling in love with Killswitch and just from listening to the first song in the OP it's going to keep up. I can't wait to see them live and I'm going to agree with Dpooch that they have become a top 5 favorite band.

Necro for album release.

Its good. A lot more harmonized singing I noticed, but overall its standard KSE.

Though... at times in the album that seems to become a bad thing.

I almost feel like The End of Heartache, As Daylight Dies, and this album are the same thing... <.< The sound is just too similar... I'd love for them to let their sound evolve a little more.

For the record, they are amazing live.

And I kind of like that it apparently sounds the same.
I agree in wanting them to "evolve" but I like the current KSE.

Then again, I haven't listened to the new album and will not do so until I can get the money for the actual CD.

I thought that it was great! I normally don't listen to a whole lot of KSE, but i decided to download this and I do not regret it! Highly recommended!
