I think Squirrel's post hit the nail on the head. At this point, everyone knows how to play them, and is comfortable with them. Developers can also create a multiplayer experience first, and then a ...

What band DIDN'T the Beatles influence? That's probably an easier list to make. They sure as hell influenced Metallica and Iron Maiden.

Metallica should be way up there. They were much more influ ...

Speaking of Coltrane, I love him in any of the Miles Davis albums, and I love Giant Steps and My Favorite Things, but I found A Love Supreme to be a really challenging listen. I listened to it a numb ...

I'm not huge on the visual style. The character models themselves look pretty bland, if you ask me. BlazBlue's visual transcendence has spoiled me for every other fighting game I look at.

I also ...

I don't really see the harm in categorizing music by its sonic qualities. Seems useful to me. Helps me find music I'm likely to like, and ignore music I'm likely to despise.

The first Malmsteen album is quite good, with lots of variety and texture in the playing. My personal favorite off the album is "Icarus Dream Suite." The second album has the notable addit ...
