As far as getting Beta goes, I'm pretty sure it's impossible with one character. Unless there's some way to do enough damage to get him to use Beta before using the move that knocks a character out ...

You can swap the discs without saving. That challenge isn't TOO hard. You just need to be careful....very careful. If you try it, try not to overheat the PS2 or PS1 lol.
