What all have you tried? Audacity seems to do a fairly good job for recording. Nothing overly fancy, but it will definitely get the job done.
Also, what setup are you using? Do you just have a microphone hooked up to your computer, or are you doing something else?

i'll check that Audacity out...i got a mic in my comp....i gotta see how it goes....i left my headset in my apartment, so i won't be back there until Sunday.....but my comp has a built in mic....so i'm just trying to find any software that will work right now. _________________

audacity is looking good. working on getting a beat now.....some of my lyrics are rough (what i get for writing the thing in like 20 mins)...i'll try to make it work though
yeah, postponed until at least Sunday....mic here isn't working out....too much outside noise. _________________

May sound silly but if it's possible, get in a closet when you record... It'd be easiest if you just had a mic and went in a closet (it takes away alot of the outside noise) but since it's one that's built in to your computer I dunno what your set up is to be able to take it in the closet (whether it's a laptop or desktop)....

a bathroom is also good. a buddy of mine used it to record some guitar work a while ago, and it turned out better than just recording in his living room. _________________
