Meh, I've tried to get into Opeth, but the RORORO doesn't work for me... I don't like anything death metal.
They're good, but I just don't like most of their work.

That's a tough question. My favorite Opeth album is Blackwater Park, but my second favorite would have to be Ghost Reveries. There are quite a few people who would disagree with me on this, but I think that's because nearly every Opeth album is at least solid, if not a classic. It's hard to rank, but I don't really think too many Opeth fans hate the album. |

Ghost Reveries is by far my favorite. It is pure perfection. It could very well be the best album ever recorded. I think some people don't like it because they think Opeth sold out at that point.
My ordering goes a little like this:
Ghost Reveries
Damnation
Deliverance
Blackwater Park
Still Life
Watershed
My Arms, You Hearse
Morningrise
Orchid
So yeah, basically reverse chronological.

Try Damnation. Only soft songs with no growling.
I really don't like Ghost Reveries at all, I could never get into the songs as much as the others...definitely not because they "sold out" (which they never did).
My Order:

Watershed
Still Life
Damnation
Morningrise
Deliverance
Ghost Reveries
