|
|
Are you having problems with your new GH:WT drum kit? Do you have dropped notes, crosstalk issues, or have to hit it really hard for notes to register? Activision has aknowledged that some of their drums that were manufactured early have certain sensitivity problems and have come up with a workaround that should help you out. Go to RedOctane's customer service website to download the PC application and register to have them ship you a midi-USB cable that is needed to connect the drums to your PC. Install the program and follow the on-screen instructions to adjust each pad, cymbal, and even pedal's sensitivity from 1 to 20. This should hopefully help solve some of the problems people are having with their kits. But do it quickly! Warranty can be claimed only within 90 days from purchase date.
Drum Controller Standard Tuning Kit Minimum System Requirements
For Microsoft(R) Windows(R) XP:
1GHz Pentium or Better
512MB RAM
For Microsoft(R) Windows VISTA(TM):
1GHz Pentium or Better
512MB RAM
In order for the application to run, Windows XP users will need to have .net 2.0 installed. If you don't have this version or later you can download it from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=0856EACB-4362-4B0D-8EDD-AAB15C5E04F5&displaylang=en

Does anyone know if the "manufacturing problem" is hardware or firmware related? As in, were the drums shipped with very low sensitivity settings, or is there a hardware problem which makes it harder for them to read hits? |

The reason yours hasn't changed yet is probably because you sent it in before the game was released. A week ago right now, the game was not released yet.
I'm pretty sure mine was confirmed, they sent me an email regarding it. _________________

Question: If you change the sensitivity settings for the WT drums and use them in RB2, will they still have those sensitivity changes or will it reset back to default?
Haven't been able to try WT yet so I'm just wondering. |

I filled out all the pages to get the Midi USB cable, but RO's email said they're going to send another email with info on where to mail my product to. Did I do something wrong or am I supposed to mail something?
EDIT: Nevermind, I forgot to enter the drum serial no. Stupid me. -__-

I got mine the same day that they said it would take 3 or so days to arrive. And I didn't fill out my serial number.
AWESOME |

Is the kit supposed to say something when you tune it? I put everything to 20 and hit save and that was it. Is it supposed to say "Your kit has been tuned" or something? Cause I played it and nothing has changed whatsoever it seems.
Also:

Where would the instructions be? All I have is that screen-shot that you show in the OP. _________________

Aha, that must have been my problem too since I filled out the RMA form on 11/2 and didn't hear a peep from anyone, and then my incident got changed to "solved". I had the same type of language you did where it sounded like I was supposed to send them something. So for the hell of it I filled out another one and now it says "we will be shipping your cable in 3-5 days". I guess I must have forgotten to enter the serial number too.
Edit: Strangely enough, they are now shipping my cable from the original RMA number (not the most recent one I filled out). I'll wait until I actually receive it though, before telling them they can disregard the other one. _________________

received my cable yesterday and it works like a champ! I followed the instructions to a T, and am no longer dropping my yellow cymbal when it's hit with the snare. Only downside to the whole thing is my wii is in the living room, but computer is in the office. had to move the computer into the living room so I could hear the tv! |
