|
|
Hey,
Just wondering - I recently purchases the Samsung 32" Series 4, and I'm having a bit of trouble with the calibration of lag. I've done numerous tests and all of them are different. I've stuck it in game mode, and it didn't help.
Does anyone else own one of these, and have the perfect calibration setting? |

Ah ok, so you have the same model as me. Sucks though, cause I have an older 360 - and don't have the HDMI port :|.
So I have to connect though Component cables. Would VGA be any better? |

Are you using the normal Red/White audio cords?
Are you going through a stereo system?
Are you hitting the strum bar EXACTLY as the game beeps? _________________

I'm using the 5 colour cables (component).
No, I'm using the TV's inbuilt speakers.
Yep. |

Keep in mind that 80% of people don't notice the lag, that's why there hasn't been a huge push from TV manufacturers to address and resolve the issues that cause it. I've told this story before but I went to a gaming bar locally that had been there for 2 years with the exact same setup. Me and my Halo team sat down for our first game there and felt horrible lag immediately. We told the bar owner who claimed he had never had a complaint there before. This place had had literally thousands of people through and nobody had ever complained about the lag (even though it was AWFUL, somewhere between 300-600ms I'd say)
Anyway, moral of the story is, if someone's playing in HD without it calibrated or possibly an external audio source, it's lagging, whether or not they can feel it (I know this isn't a popular opinion among those that claim their TV's don't lag, but it's the truth).
See my post in this thread for a little more info. Calibrating for lag just isn't a good fix. VGA cables are your best bet (and an external audio source wouldn't hurt either). _________________

I'm runnin my wii on a 47" philips using the reg vga cables and still have some lag issues. But once I calibrated it, it hasn't been an issue.
And I'm glad it hasn't cuz I've tried playin the drums on a laggy tv, fail all over the place! |
