Only song to mess me up was Spirit in the Sky by Norman Greenbaum, but that was like right after my Dad passed away.

I have to go with almost the entire CD of Hybrid Theory by Linkin Park. More specifically the songs In The End, With You, and Pushing Me Away. There was this girl I've known since I was probably 11 or 12, I was always trying to get with her, but in the end, no matter what I tried, things never happened. I used to listen to that CD alot when I'd think about her so it brings back really strong emotions. She was my first love after all.

Secondly, Cats in the Cradle. Not sure the original artist because I've always listened to the Ugly Kid Joe cover. I tear up a lot at that song because I've never really had a relationship with my dad, and that song is pretty much all about the dad never having time for the kid, and then the kid grows up and doesn't have time for his dad. Kind of like my experience, only the end of the song doesn't really fit to me.

There are tons more, I'm a really emotional guy. I probably shouldn't be open about that...

Closer by Mike Oldfield seems like a song to cry to. The first time I heard it I almost cried, it was so depressing. It's like 5 minutes of mournful guitars/stand up basses, I can't tell which, and a regular choir over that. So sad.

And then, when I was 5 or 6, there was an episode of Pokemon that had Pikachu going to live with other Pikachu, and he sang a song about how he missed Ash, which brought my 5 year old frame to tears. Truly moving stuff.

Seriousness edit: Yes, Cat's in the Cradle got me near tears. I really listened to the lyrics for the first time when my dad was driving to his dad's funeral... 'nuff said.
Also Californication by RHCP. It might not seem like much, but my spanish exchange brother played that song the first night I stayed in his house, and just a month ago, a month after he left I heard that riff on the radio and it brought back every memory we had...

Not sure if I've ever shed a tear over a song, but Brokedown Palace by Grateful Dead is one song that has made me incredibly sad.

Holes by Mercury Rev also connected with me in a similar way.

Harry Chapin. UKJ did a great job with their cover.

As for me, songs that remind me of Mom who died when I was 10 will do it. "Christmas Shoes" in particular. Another one is "The Light of that City". I sing in my church's choir. We were practicing that song one time, and I just lost it.

Not Enough by Our Lady Peace (Gravity album) is an extremely strong and powerful song. I had a sister that died young of cancer, and I think of her whenever I listen to that song.

Although not the traditional rock stuff I usually listen to, I also get choked up on Goodbye To You by Michelle Branch. I have strong mental associations with that song as I listened to it when I was departing from a few things that had been a part of my life previously.

There are tons of other songs that evoke strong emotions for me, but not really any others that risk me losing it. I'm 29 now, and if you had asked me this question 6 or 7 years ago when I was going through a serious period of depression, I would have listed a lot more songs. I listened to a lot of emo-rage stuff, though I was never actually "emo" myself, but it was also a lot easier to lose control since I had none.

"Speak To Me" going so smoothly and beautifully into "Breathe" on Pink Floyd's "The Dark Side of The Moon" has gotten me pretty freakin' emotional, but not the the point of breaking down.

Just thought I'd throw that in there

This made me cry every single time I heard it.

I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing by Aerosmith kills me every time I hear it. I have a brother that died when he was only 13 days old, and this song was playing when my Mom told me my brother died.

If You're Reading This by Tim McGraw also has some sort of emotional value.

A couple of songs that break me down:

Evanescence - My Immortal: It doesn't make me cry, but it just makes me really depressed.

Elvis Presley - An American Trilogy: It breaks me down because they played this when they were walking out my uncle's casket at his funeral, so it's more for a personal reason.

I listened to "Sail on Soothsayer" (not the one in GH3) by Buckethead, last night, and I teared up a bit at that. Even if it doesn't have any lyrics or a special connection to me, it's still just so beautiful.

Electric Tears by Buckethead.

It's absolutely stunning. It's as if I am in a trance while listening to it. I dunno why, but that makes me emotional.

If you ever listen to "You Never Know" by Immortal Technique and don't cry you're probably not a human being.

Off the top of my head I can't think of anything else.
