Normally, I'm working about five days a week and playing video games or biking in between...

Fortunately, I am doing a good deal of traveling this summer. In about a week, I'm leaving for Italy (Cinque Terre, to be specific) to spend a few days with a friend who is studying abroad.

At the end of July, I'm going to Colorado with ten other friends to go hiking in the Rockies. One of my buddies has a time share in Beaver Creek. It's going to be awesome.

Then, at the end of the summer, I leave for Germany, to go visit my cousin who is studying abroad, hang out there for a few weeks and hit up Oktoberfest. I am freakin' pumped.

Dare I say... my birthday is July 30th? Or has that wagon already crashed?

I don't know what I'm going do. I know I'm going to get a driver's license and sleep a lot. Whatever happens happens. Maybe I'll go to Mackinac Island or something.

I forgot to mention going to see the Kansas / Styx / Foreigner show. That was last night. It was freaking unbelievable. I'm also going to the Iron Maiden / Dream Theater concert in two weeks; anyone else catching either of those tours this summer?

Yep, I'm going to the Iron Maiden/Dream Theater show 3 days after my birthday! My family is leaving for Mexico for a week on that same day, so afterparty at my house!

Gunna try to start working out and getting fit for next school year. Im a little bit on the chubby side. I also hope to see my girlfriend this summer and spend time with her. I have a hard time talking to her and seeing her. (Parents took away her phone and their overprotective so they barely let her go anywhere, feels bad man) I hope to see her this week.

Since my birthday is on Thursday but my present is always like 300$ worth of fireworks since the 4th is 3 days afterwards haha.

This is my summer.

Work, projects (next up is adding LED's to two xbox 360's and a monster Atari 2600 mod), hanging out with the girlfriend and friends, and raves.

That's really about it. ^_^

Also, I notice alot of you younger Americans do not have summer jobs, is that normal? or just because of the economy, we really don't seem to have that issue up here for summer jobs anyways.

not sure what age group you mean by younger, but most jobs usually require you to be 16 or so to be hired, atleast around Arkansas it's like that at most places.

I remember when it was easy cheese (around here) to get a job, like 4 years ago. Now it takes months of searching for a place that'll even take you in. That and most places just aren't hiring. It seemed so much easier when I was a teen than it is now, hah.

December 22nd? Second closest to Christmas >_>

Still trying desperately to get a job. In the UK it's riddiculous. I've been looking for 6 months, and have had ONE interview, and TWO responses. That's it. I have good GCSE's, and decent AS levels. I fucking hate it, it's so depressing doing nothing constantly.

I work like two days at a cafe but it's not enough.

I know that in my area (Vancouver, WA), it's extremely difficult to get a job while under 16, and it's really hard to get one at 16. I'm 15 right now, and I turn 16 this saturday, but I doubt I'll be able to get a job.

Anyway, my summer has actually been pretty okay for the last couple of days. We haven't done ANY yard work since last summer (and even then we didn't really do anything) so the grass in our back and side yards are about as tall as I am (about 5'8"). I've been mowing it all down, and weeding and whatnot. Next weekend, we're going to work on the HUGE raspberry bush that has grown out by our shop, behind the pool (it's literally probably 15' tall).

I enjoy yardwork for some strange reason. It makes me feel good when I'm done. It's very cool to look at what it is after what it was. I'll take a few pictures and post them here if I get the chance.
