The one thing I still cannot figure out is zig-zags, no matter how hard I try I can't seem to ace them, and in GH3 they're everywhere so I'd love some advice. If you don't know what I'm referring to...Them Bones solo and Free Bird Solo C are examples.

Here's how I do it:

Roll your three fingers over the center button, like they're a rolling pin and the three buttons are the dough.

Works for me a lot.

hyperspeed, yes on songs with "zig-zags" the notes are more spaced and easier to hit.
take CoP for example
for me: 209 without hyperspeed, and 260k with.

um hold down the red button (if your playing free bird)

just practice them on each speed till you get the rythem down, they are pretty tough but its all about controlling your fingers to match the rythem
