Which book? I had to read Crime and Punishment and some other shorter book for Honors English sophomore year. That was rough. _________________

The Iliad of Homer. It's all about war and impossible to follow. |

Yeah, I've read parts. I thought the Odyssey was better. That's a tough one for the summer. I don't think I'd get much of it read with Guitar Hero as an alternative. _________________

Of Mice and Men was good. I also enjoyed The Great Gatsby, The Hobbit (9th grade), and the LOTR series (we got to read three books of our choice in 10th grade).
Some awful ones to get through: The Grapes of Wrath, The Scarlet Letter, Thoreau's Walden, Crime and Punishment, and Tess of the D'Ubervilles. _________________

The only reason I hate reading during school is because of the stupid character analysi (is that the right plural?) we always have to do with EVERY single character in EVERY single book.
If we didn't have to do that, I would love reading during school. _________________

Ugh, that was the one book my Freshman English Teacher put the most time into during the whole year
I ended up having to read the book twice because we had to take notes for a seminar, and the first time i read it i kinda just speed read and skimmed the book
Now i hate the book, and i will never read it again |

The second semester of freshman year we were forced to read Romeo & Juliet....over and over again. We had to read through it once, "act" it out once (people take parts, but just read them instead of acting them), do a character analysis on a character, and then pick an essay topic to write on.
It was either write about the language used in the play, write about the types of love in it, or write about marriage.
I chose marriage, since it seemed the least lame of the three. _________________
