Solo 7 and 8. A full start power will not get you through both, and then I fail a few measures after SP runs out.

A tip from someone who sucked his way through this song:

Master the solo breaks. There's 5 SP phrases in the breaks, which should be enough to get you through the song if you can nail the entire break and boost your rock meter temporarily--not that hard with the right fingering technique. The rest is just hitting as much as you can in the solos and making sure to use SP at the last moment so you're not wasting it with a yellow rock meter.

Failed this song three times, realized that the solo breaks were the key to victory, got the fingering of the breaks down and passed it with four stars.

I don't use SP on any solo because I need it for the easy parts to get my pts ^^

Well, yes. If you don't suck like me and fail on the solos, the SP obviously goes to the parts you can hit.

Erm, yeah.. So my friend was walking by my room and recognized the sound of Guitar Hero. (He didn't know I played, and he only plays occassionally on easy.) So he asks what difficulty I play on. I tell him expert, but I'm currently playing through easy to get unlocks. Then I tell him that Hangar 18 made me stop playing expert, and I decide to play it to show him why.

And I pass it. -_- With a 4*.

On to Freebird, I guess.

I've done just about every song in the game on expert w/o practice mode. (With exception to Physchobilly freakout) , and I plan to beat this song w/o practice mode to.

The farthest I've got is 89% and I didn't really use that much star power thruout the song.

I hate playing the first 60% of the song because it's so damn easy and boring.

Misirlou was really easy in my opinion btw.

I don't have a problem passing this song, but does anyone have a halfway-decent star path for this song. The five star is about 290K, and everytime I play it, I get 268XXX. Everytime!!! Also, is there something different about the game mechanics? I hit so many more chords one GH, but there have been times when I swear that I hit the chord correctly, but GH2 gives me a plink instead. Is it me, or did someone else notice this, too?

I'm in the same boat. I'm pretty much stuck at 270k and have been for like the last 3 days.

Edit: yay finally. That shouldnt have been that hard :/

To five star this song, make sure you can hit the YRGRYB RG part followed by the RY chords every time. Save your star power for this part every time it's coming and you should five star it (granted you can hit the other easy stuff too.) I got about 298,000 doing this.

5*:

Master the solos..and do NOT use the SP for that. Use it for the riffs transitioning between them and work the SP into solos.

I'm getting real frustrated with this, at about 278~ with 92%, I see people with 5* at only 89%, guess I hit more of the solos and less of the riffs inbetween

This song was much harder for me to five star than others for some reason. My SP "strategy" (I just play, so don't expect this to be good) was to use after three and I had a full combo during the verse. I then used after two immediately after getting them cuz I can keep combo there. Then I tried to use during the ry chords section that always repeats. Last, I used a full meter during the very end when it starts getting fast....it takes you past the rapid orange notes, where you can rack up over a bunch of points if you can keep a combo for even half of it.
