So yeah, the thread idea was originally for metal covers of nonmetal songs, but I'm going to revamp this thread to be for all songs that get covered by a genre other than there original. It's a pretty fun concept and there are some really great covers out there.

Well, I recently stumbled upon this on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NsZFxPDxKaQ&feature=fvw
It's a metal cover of Soulja Boy crank that. That video prompted me to search for other metal covers. I ended up coming across:
Poker Face: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yjmj-9XFW-0
Oops I did it Again: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-wjm8Lcwak
Can You Feel the Love Tonight (Power Metal cover): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wj2QR0XuoLQ
I Kissed a Girl: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZ3Z1a7TDKg
Among other less weird metal covers like Tetris and Super Mario. So I was wondering who else enjoyed these and if you guys knew anything else. I actually find it pretty refreshing and cool to hear these mainstream songs converted into something that I like to listen to. The added guitar solo in Oops was pretty badass. I'd love to hear some more rap or pop metal covers, but all metal covers (like video game ones) are welcome too.
EDIT: I found this band called Ten Masked Men through my searching that does a lot of these. I highly suggest typing that name into YouTube and reaping the rewards.

Haha, makes me think of this (eventhough I hesitate to call Disturbed "heavy metal"...)

There's Children of Bodom's Skeletons in the Closet album which includes covers of Lookin' Out My Back Door (Creedence Clearwater Revivial), Somebody Put Something in My Drink (The Ramones), Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In) (Kenny Rogers and the First Edition), Rebel Yell (Billy Idol), Talk Dirty to Me (Poison), Oops! I Did It Again (Britney Spears) and Ghost Riders in the Sky (various).
Additionally, there's Helloween's Metal Jukebox, with songs like Space Oddity (David Bowie), All My Loving (The Beatles) and Hocus Pocus (Focus). _________________

For metal covers, I'd have to nominate Megadeth's "These Boots" and Metallica's Garage, Inc. album (Stone Cold Crazy, Tuesday's Gone, etc).
For non-metal covers of metal songs, I'm a big Richard Cheese & Lounge Against The Machine fan. It's lounge versions of rap, R&B, rock, metal, etc. songs. Including War Ensemble (Slayer), Down With The Sickness (Disturbed), Enter Sandman (Metallica) from the metal side. Great band, check 'em out. _________________

If you have a chocolate bar in your heart I suggest seeking medical attention. |

Check out ''The Doomsday'' by SnappleMan.
It's a metal cover of the song that plays in the ''Doomsday Zone'' of Sonic The HedgeHog 3 & Knuckles.
It's Pretty insane !!!
Infact look up ''Sonic 3 & Knuckles : Project Chaos''
These are the few metal covers in there like ''Malicious Fingers'' ''Dead Batteries'' ''Scrambled EggMan'' ''Live At The Sandopolise''.
The rest is kind of Dnace/Electronic and though i'm not into that music, it's an awesome Album !!
There all awesome, and completely freeware !!

Between The Buried and Me covering Metallica's "Blackened"
I mean...Metallica is metal but I classify them as heavy rock more, and obviously BTBAM is heavier so...
