Haha, I think I saw this on the wii customs disc at ravagefest over the summer, but I figured it was just the RB chart put in GH3 so I didn't bother playing it . The solo actually makes it worth playing though, despite how hilariously bad the vocals are. [/list] _________________

This thread is awesome.
I love these types of covers.
Here's my contribution.
1000 Miles by Never See Tomorrow (Originally Vanessa Carlton)

Never See Tomorrow are an Australian band local to me.
Pretty good cover in my opinion. _________________

Hammer Smashed Face by one guy and an out of tune violin.
Metal can only be enhanced by retardedness. It's not really a cover but it's just too funny to not post. _________________

Normally, any song that a Death/Screamo/Grindcore band covers that isn't of the same genre, is usually crap, there are a few exceptions I've come across, but they sometimes make up for it with great quality music or their vocals are still understandable lol
These guys have been brought up before, but they are just too fun lol
Austrian Death Machine - Killing is My Business (Megadeth)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NN2tghQt6Wc
Not a death metal band, but I think a metal band from the 80's covering a classic tune from the 60's is quite outside their genre. Also for Megadeth fans, the intro solo is done by Dave Mustaine along with him producing
Sanctuary - White Rabbit (Jefferson Airplane)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aE_EhCgmO80
And for good measure, this is just funny lol
Sodom - Surfin Bird

Not sure how far out of the genre it is, but I really like Five Finger Death Punch's cover of Bad Company (originally done by Bad Company). For those of you who are wondering, it is on their new album, War is the Answer. _________________

How has this thread got to 5 pages without anyone mentioning Hayseed Dixie?
For anyone not in the know, they started as a bluegrass tribute to ACDC, but have since moved on to Motorhead, Sabbath, Van Halen, Stones, Beatles and a whole pile of other stuff.
For that matter how has no-one mentioned the Dickies? (maybe its a generation gap thing) - the original over the top punk covers band. (I'd post a link to their versions of Paranoid, Silent Night, Banana splits TV theme etc but I'm too lazy to search for one.)
EDIT : I will actually post this though, because its too awesome for words:

YES this is my favourite cover EVER, I was about to post it, I was practically rolling on the floor laughing when I first heard that. I love the 'mix 'em and cook em up in a pot like gumbo' part, it's especially funny knowing the original song xD _________________
