Just gotta say this event was awesome, great work to everyone who competed.
Results are
1st: Acai28
2nd: UKOG Monkey
3rd: Boyke
4th: Rudeism
First bit of news so far this year, they've just announced the first 7 titles:
WCG 2010 Official Game Titles:
PC
Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne (Blizzard, RTS)
Counter-Strike (Valve, FPS)
TrackMania Nations Forever (Ubisoft, Racing)
Carom 3D (NeoAct, Sports)
Xbox 360
Guitar Hero 5 (Activision, Music)
Tekken 6 (Namco Bandai Games, Fighting)
Forza Motorsport 3 (Microsoft Game Studios, Racing)
WCG 2010 Promotional Game Title:
PC
Lost Saga (IO Entertainment, Action)
Song List (from head referee DarkJyn):
Game Type : Pro Face-Off
Difficulty: Expert
Hyperspeed Mode: Can be decided by each player to whichever speed they prefer
Slider bar: Off (Slider bar can be turned on if, and only if both players agree to this change)
Songs
1. American Girl – Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers
2. Demons – Darkest Hour
3. Deadbolt – Thrice
4. Done with Everything Die for Nothing – Children of Bodom
5. No One to Depend On (Live) – Santana
6. One Big Holiday – My Morning Jacket
7. Scatterbrain (Live) – Jeff Beck
8. Younk Funk – The Derek Trucks Band
9. Sultans of Swing – Dire Straits
10. 2 Minutes to Midnight – Iron Maiden
Final Song: The Spirit of Radio - Rush
Character: Free Choice
Updated rules list:
http://www.wcg.com/6th/2010/games/rule_2010_gf/WCG_2010_GF_GH5_Rules%20ver_1.1.pdf
Just a couple changes (nothing big) such as top 8 will use the veto system where each player chooses to remove 2 songs each then the best of 3 is a random selection of the remaining songs and any ties will be resolved by the Spirit of Radio, though there is no Deadbolt in the pools so that probably won't happen.
Here's the draw: http://www.wcg.com/6th/2010/match_list/GH5_FINAL.pdf

Is it too soon to ask if they've announced any official tournament rules? _________________

I guess so. I guess we'll have to wait til Darkjyn and TestTeam get contacted. Here's hoping that they allow imports (and possible free DLC) so we could actually get 10 songs of tournament difficulty. |

Imports and DLC would be terrible. I can't access XBL 99% of the time and GH5's ass-backwards system makes it so I can't play DLC because of it.
Predictions for songs:
Locks:
Scatterbrain
Done With Everything, Die For Nothing
Demon(s)
No One to Depend On
Spirit of the Radio
Possible (In order of likelyhood):
American Girl
Deadbolt (I hope it gets picked just for all the tied scores)
Sultans of Swing (Looks hard, but not actually; Good for spectators)
Wolf Like Me (I hope not. I don't want to learn the actual activations on this song. )
21st Century Schizoid Man (Long, most is easy. Possible final song?)
Medicate
Running Down a Dream (See: Sultans of Swing; Less probable due to American Girl's exsistance)
Younk Funk (Lots of variety, not really super hard, but would be a difficult tourney FC)
One Big Holiday (Varied, fairly difficult FC)
Lust For Life (Hard, but doesn't look impressive)
Do You Feel Like We Do? (Good choice, but too long)
I'm super excited about this! _________________

Yeah good list. I played 21CSM twice and hated the sound of it so never played it again, but I guess it works for final song. Just not as epic as Satch or ttfaf imo. Younk Funk is definitely a fun song. I don't recognise One Big Holiday though. I'll play it when I get home. |

I take it Logitech Guitar is no good?
Anyway, I would come, but I lolsuck (only 600K on Faf-ee-faf), and I'm of young age, so I don't see this happening soon. _________________

I made up my own list of likely songs, but they're pretty much the same as you guys. :P I might as well give this a shot, although I doubt I'll get very far amongst the likes of a lot of you. _________________

Hoy sh*t, Milford here...
I think ZombieGamers used to host them, but I don't know if they're still around.
