Yes yes, it's true, now maybe the band singer actually won't scream like a girl and go "WOAH-WOAH-WOAH" a million times.

So who thinks this was a good move by Dragonforce? (Or a bad one)

Yeah, just heard about this one a few hours ago actually..

The guy is definitely the only voice I can really imagine with DF, I can't imagine future albums would be quite the same with someone else.

Then again, I don't really listen to them, so it doesn't really hurt me that much >_>

Yay, maybe now they can find a tolerable singer that doesn't make me want to volunteer for an icepick lobotomy when I hear him sing those generic and awful lyrics lol!

Oh my god. All my hopes and dreams remain...

...unaffected.

(For those who recognize that: )

MAJOR

ZP is the only person capable of doing the vocals for DF.

I honestly wonder who they will have doing the vocals now on the 5th album.

I seriously hope he is good.

But still

That would be cool if they now went instrumental and wrote a second song.

First off, this.

Secondly, I am wondering if Carlos Zema would be a good fit for DF. He definitely has the power and range that DF would be looking for.

Except that over half of the songs' lyrics on Inhuman Rampage weren't written by Theart at all.

But I agree that they should try some completely instrumental songs.

It would be cool if they went instrumental, but they can't be TOTALLY instrumental. I just don;t think it would work for them. Who the new singer will be, though, I have no idea.

Maybe DragonForce will just slowly die off and disban?

Is he the one that wrote the lyrics?
If not then it isn't his fault that he always sang about cold winter mornings and dragons.

On Valley of the Damned, Theart is credited for every song (though, all but two of them are collaborations with Sam Totman). From Sonic Firestorm onwards Sam seems to have taken over lyric duties, though all songs seem to remain being collaborations. It's still a tough call to say who was directly influencing the subject matter, but Theart obviously had a part in first instigating it.

I don't think we'll see any sort of change in the lyrics though, as I'm sure Totman (and the rest of the band) will keep up with what they have been doing in the past.

As for my personal thoughts on the subject, it makes me somewhat sad to see such an important piece of the band's line-up break away. I will never be ashamed to say DragonForce still remains one of the most important bands in my life, as Valley of the Damned played a key role into opening my mind to so many more genres of metal and other music.
