Take out Dethklok. No metal album deserves to be considered one of the best albums of the decade.

I think this is a little silly. While I wouldn't put the Dethalbum anywhere close to the top album of the decade (fucking lol), no metal albums is a bit much, especially after you say Arcade Fire has the best album of the decade. You're just picking albums from genres that you like and ignoring any influence or backing other albums had simply because it's not your genre of choice. You seem to be confusing "best" with "favorite." (To be fair it appears the OP made the same mistake.) As someone who is such a prog "fanboy" you would think you would have some respect for some good progressive metal albums.

I'm not going to bother to throw my list in because it's just my opinion and, go figure, would probably be metal albums.

Best IS favorite. Too many people like shitty bands (Nirvana) because they don't realize this. Influence = great. Influence =/= good. You don't need to like great bands. You just need to recognize them. Perhaps respect but that's arguable.

60s - Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band by The Beatles
May not be my favorite from them, but it definitely changed the way music was made.

70s - The Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd
One of the best albums of no time, no bad songs.

80s - The Number of the Beast by Iron Maiden
Metal characterizes this decade to me, and I like Maiden.

90s - The Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails
A genius melancholic album that definitely is awesome

00s - Stadium Arcadium by Red Hot Chili Peppers
I just like the album, nothing else to really say.

Lol @ DSOTM. The only reason there's no bad songs on it is because there's no music. It's all ambiance, noise, and other stuff I could have heard without listening to that damn album. The rest of the picks are cool though I guess. I don't particularly like any of the bands you named but I can respect opinions. There's certain things I treat as facts though, such as Pink Floyd or Nirvana sucking.
