This is annoying I was able to get from 60 to 90% through the song thought I was figuring it out had like 4 4x streaks, and now sudden;y I can't get through the beginning 10%

Take a break from the song for a week or two. The more you try it, the more frustrated you will become. Taking a break will freshen your mind, and 99% of the time you will do a lot better at it then before. Who knows! You may beat it when you come back to it!

yeah it just sucks because i was so freaking close had a full star power close enough to finish the song, and for some weird reason I couldn't get it activated, failed, didn't get the battle axe and now can't get anywhere on the song

keep trying....same thing happened to me.

i played that song for a month straight before i could get passed it...there are times i would get 8% and fail...then i'd get 60% and fail...then i'd finally hit 90% and fail....failed on 99% also.

eventually you'll get it.

Practice the strum rhythm on the song on Hard. And work on the fingering with VGS Player. It'll eventually click and you'll get at least most of the main riff. From there it'll be an easy pass.

This is exactly what I did with TBW-expert. Practiced it on hard for like two hours, and then went to expert and finally passed it there. Still can't even come close to even 4-starring it yet, but I can pass it. More than I can say for CBFM, BATM, TF, et al...

I suggest you learn how to strum up and down then. And practice, practice, practice.

That was precisely why I practiced it on hard for 2 hours... to learn how to strum it up and down. Decontrol is good for that too. I do pretty decent on the main verse lines (in both) now, but not decent enough to maintain enough of a streak for decent scores on expert.... yet. It's the solos that kill me now, with just the occasional plink in the verses.

Riz.

Decontrol has a hard solo on Expert. I don't alternate strum on Decontrol though. I can keep up pretty well down-strumming everything (except a few parts of the solo which I botch anyway).

I've had that problem before too. Sometimes your hand just doesn't comprehend the rhythm even though your brain does. Just take a break or play another song. Either works and eventually you'll hit the parts again.
