http://hub.guitarhero.com/metallicaimport/

The site is currently giving 21 char codes (XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-X) instead of 25 char codes (XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX), this means you won't be able to redeem the new code the webpage gives you and also you won't be able to download the import for free anymore because you've already used your GH:M and GH:WoR code.

Two friends are experiencing this, I can confirm this is atleast happening on Xbox 360, you can also go to the official GH forums and you'll notice all the people are having this issue too.

I suggest you to NOT use your codes until the problem is fixed.

EDIT:
singemfrc says it works on PS3.

I'm not super mad since it's only $6 for something I would have paid for anyway but still disappointed :/

Glad i checked the forums before heading out to Gamestop. I may have gotten screwed over like you guys. XD

But on a serious note, this is absolute and utter bullshit. Fuck activision for screwing this up, and if they don't fix it soon, i will be creating a new asshole for their customer service center.

Wasn't there something screwed up with the GH:Van Halen code redemption site last year too?

Luckily my game hasn't arrived yet, but you'd think they would test these things before the site goes live..

Easy there killer, if the codes are working on PSN but not XBL, it is probably an issue with Microsoft.

The site isn't giving XBL users enough characters to be a proper code. It's an issue with the site itself, nothing to do with Microsoft. It appears like the site is considering the dashes in the XBL codes to be characters, so it leaves off the last 4 characters of the code.

I think I'll give Activision a call about this today.

I just highly doubt that all of the blame lies in Activision's lap. There have been many instances where a developer/publisher tries to run a promotion but either miscommunication or capabilities with Microsoft screw everything up. I am sure that Microsoft and Activision are working on figuring this out as we type, so I'd just recommend everyone relax and not get so bent out of shape over something that is so trivial in the grand scheme of life.
