Hi, I'm Ontwikseltsaar. I started playing Guitar Hero in April 2008, when I got myself GH3 for Wii (I got it later for Xbox 360 too, so I could play DLC). For some reason, I promised myself not to make a topic (or post, actually) here on ScoreHero before I got 68 GH3 FCs. Truth is, I got to 63, and then moved on to drums. Since then I've been playing drums mostly, getting a double bass pedal and Roland TD-9K as a drum set and lately, I've been gathering some FCs (some of which I got cheated out off by my flimsy orange cymbal: L'via L'viaquez for example). Now, I figure I'll never really get to those 68 GH3 FCs, so I thought it would be time to make a topic here anyways. I hope to get some feedback here and I also hope to return some of my experience to the community, although I'm by no means as good as the Dannys or even the sub-Dannys of the rhythm game scene.

~Thom

P.S. I read the rules, but I still don't know how some stuff works here, so I'mma try this out.

My Non-FC Guitar Hero Videos
Guitar Hero Guitar Compilation 1
Roughly ordered from easiest to hardest. I had to record every section multiple times because I only have one camera.

Guitar Hero Guitar Compilation 2
Especially the first solo from Love Removal Machine was hard to do. Roughly ordered from easiest to hardest. I had to record every section multiple times because I only have one camera.

Guitar Hero Guitar Compilation 3
I finally found out how to render my videos widescreen. This video features alternative fretting methods at the same time. Roughly ordered from easiest to hardest. I had to record every section multiple times because I only have one camera.

Guitar Hero Guitar Compilation 4
A lot of effort was put into getting this together, even though, honestly, a lot of time passed when I started this where I was just too lazy to bother with it. Again, the sections are roughly ordered from easiest to hardest, but it's quite a rough order this time, because I had so many sections to sort and because I wanted to have a TDWDTG section every other fragment.

Guitar Hero Drum Compilation 1
Very nice video, if I may say so myself. I'm particularly pleased with the last two sections. My double bass pedal really helped me out at FCing sections from the Tool songs. Roughly ordered from easiest to hardest. I had to record every section multiple times because I only have one camera.

Scatterbrain expert+ technical FC
I'll never FC the whole song... This video brought me a great deal of frustration already, because this song has probably got the most technically demanding double bass chart that GH will ever see.

Please get this out of your head! Every accomplishment you get is one to be proud of!
63 is HUGE! And looking at your scores, 67 shouldn't be that hard to do!

I have to admit, TWiE, KoC and especially CoP and NotB (reminiscing those horrible chokes gives me nightmares ) were within reach, and I have been playing my plastic guitar a little again lately. Who knows, I might return to GH3 sometime.

Hello there, fellow Dutchman! It's not often I see someone from the Netherlands who's good at Guitar Hero, especially on drums. 63 FC's on GH3 is definitely something to be proud of and I'm hoping to see you get a lot more FC's on drums... welcome to the ScoreHero forums

P.S. Your OP looks great, keep it organized like this!

Edit:

@WhYYZ's next post: I've seen him on the SH leaderboards and checked out his YouTube account once... he's definitely Dutch. (Not to mention he changed his location right before your post :P)

Thanks WarlordTm. And believe me, I'm trying. I almost got Stranglehold and L'via L'viaquez, but then I overhit because of a hardware issue. It's the kind of thing that keeps getting FCs tedious. I like to think I'm persistent, though.

Also, I have been recording everything I try to FC recently, but the masking and triple FC'ing of songs like I did with Hell Bent for Leather is just too much work for songs that are longer than 3 minutes :P (could've done it with Stone Cold Crazy, though...)

EDIT: Yeah, I only just noticed that you both were Dutch :P

EDIT 2: Yeah, I changed my location just after I saw WhYYZ was from the Netherlands ^^

Whoa!

After just skimming over your accomplishments, I see some amazing FCs there in GH3!!! It took me forever to get 63 FCs...on Hard! I doubt I will ever get 63 on Expert, and it really shouldn't be hard for you to finish the game up, IMO.

I agree with WhYYZ, remember, that no one is Danny's level, but I must say you're pretty darn close.

I just uploaded the videos of my Stacked Actors and Toxicity XDrums FCs and put them in the OP. Toxicity was a little lucky, I miss at least one of the faster red rolls usually ^^

Thanks, WarlordTm, for the compliment on the OP, I like to keep things organized. Also, I spend a LOT of time yesterday sorting out my GH3 FC order, I ranked them using the date at which I added them, since I only put the FC number in the comment box in about one third of the FCs. And I reFCd some songs, so I had to keep clicking "view all" on certain songs, to see when I originally submitted the FC.
Damn, that was boring...

FINALLY! Albatross FC

I was sufficiently consistent at the interlude, but the last "roll" (with the triplet greens, it's at the end of Solo D) messed me up everytime, because I used double strokes, I think. In the end, I just used single strokes, and immediately FC'd it XD (It was a little unintuitive to use my right hand to hit the red and immediately after that hitting the blue note with my left.

My drum set failed on me a couple of times, but then I replaced the batteries, so the FC happened.

Next up: Armed and Ready X+ FC ^^

Nice job on Albatross! I haven't really tried FC'ing that song (which is one of my favorite songs in the game btw, and based on your video, one of your favorites as well ), but the double bass notes during the fast hi-hat part messed me up every time.

Also, you should try to get a drumkit view for all of your videos. You don't even have to FC it when you record your drumkit as long as your movement somewhat matches up with the sound. If you just leave out the footcam (except for maybe fast X+ songs), it'll only cost you a song's length of time, which should really not be much of a problem.

Keep up the good work .

It will probably about double Sony Vegas' rendering time though, and editing is a pain in the ass, because since I don't have a capture card (I might get one for my upcoming birthday the 25th of november) I have to adjust the mask a little bit every time, because I can never just put the camera exactly on the same place. So It'll be way easier once I get a capture card.
Anyhow, Albatross' interlude will be included in the next guitar hero drum compilation, so at least that'll have three views.

Syncing both vids shouldn't be a problem, anyway. They're both the same song, so despite some errors, there should be no difference between the runs.

Also, yeah, Albatross is an amazing song. Amazing vocalist. It was not even that easy to sing along :P Not that hard once you get used to it, though. I'd do DrumVox if I had a mic stand.

Congrats on the FC
