Ahhh... in that case, it's number of points increased (over their previous best, or more often, for a first place score, over the previous first). Hold ticks at 4x are worth 4 points, so hanging on to a hold can eek out 4 points at a time here or there on songs that have been played nearly optimally. +36 would be 9 such extra ticks, which would be quite an achievement.

i remember reading somewhere that -(number) might also mean the number points they are away from an optimal score, if that's any help. _________________

or number of missed notes... which is most likely the case in that scenario. |
