Hi,

I understand that -x in comments means that they missed x notes for 100%, but what does +x mean? (it seems to be a good thing).

No, it's a bad thing. Number of overstrums.

Ah ok, thanks!

I was confused by "+4 woohoo" and "+36, Whooparidoo!!" comments

But wow, 36 overstrums and still 100%?

Ahhh... in that case, it's number of points increased (over their previous best, or more often, for a first place score, over the previous first). Hold ticks at 4x are worth 4 points, so hanging on to a hold can eek out 4 points at a time here or there on songs that have been played nearly optimally. +36 would be 9 such extra ticks, which would be quite an achievement.

Riz.

i remember reading somewhere that -(number) might also mean the number points they are away from an optimal score, if that's any help.

or number of missed notes... which is most likely the case in that scenario.
