my GH2 disk was absolutely scratched so that all u could see was little white lines on it but i put some rubbin alchohol on it and let it dry and it worked but it was only a temporary fix since it resulted in crashing a couple of hours later |

So the gel kinda (aka blue/green) stuff doesn't work, but the normal solid white kind does??
I miss my Madden 07. _________________

So, my disc got all scratched up last night and now it doesn't work. It loads to the main menu, but as soon as I go to the setlist, there are no previews, and once I move anywhere from that screen, my screen turns black and nothing loads, although I can hear music playing. I tried out the toothpaste method about 4 times, but it did not work, and no, I didn't use gel toothpaste. So, I was wondering if someone would be kind enough to post a picture of what it should look like. I'm not sure if I am doing it right, like, maybe I am applying it to thick or not thick enough, maybe I'm not rinsing it enough, or something along those lines. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. I don't feel like buying a scratch remover, or even worse, a new game. _________________

Under any circumstances DO NOT buy a scratch remover. Those things are pieces of crap, don't bother...and yeah a picture or two would be nice I guess. _________________

Yeah, I really wasn't planning on buying a scratch remover, that would just be a something I'd do out of desperation if nothing else worked, which I hope doesn't happen. _________________

I've heard from my friend that butter spread on the CD also works. I have not tried this first-hand, but from what he says, it fixes the CD. _________________

My disc has one huge scratch on it but not really anything else. It doesn't affect anything when I play it, but when I try to copy the files on my computer, I get a message saying that the disc is too scratched to safely extract the data. So anyway will the toothpaste work the same for my computer as for my ps2?I have a tendency to screw this kind of stuff up and want to make sure before I try. |

The best way of fixing any scratched disk is brasso. Put a little bit of brasso on a cotton ball and rub the scratches in medium to fast circles. let it dry for a while the wipe off with a new cotton ball. Brasso is a superlight abrasive that takes a small amount of plastic off your disc and fills in the scratch |

There is a place connected to our Hollywood video called game crazy, and for $2 they have a machine that fixes scratches. I had those xbox 360 rings and the multi player wouldn't work, and $2 later it was fine.
Isoprophyl alcohol and rubbing by pulling outward from the center usually works for small scratches, that is essentially what the do it yourself kit is, just without the $20 and plastic disc holder _________________
