|
|
So my math teacher told us that the bonus points on Wednesday's test is that we have to guess what kind of music is on his ipod that he runs to. He's into death metal (or really metal in general) and he said it's pretty much all one genre. I have NO CLUE what kind of music would even be on his ipod since I'm not into any type of metal. So I'm asking for your help SH. I get 1/2 point for as many as I can list correctly. I don't need songs. I need bands that would happen to play songs you would jog/run to. Also, I probably don't need incredibly obscure bands. More popular ones would work. I have to try and remember these bands when I go in on Wednesday. |

I don't listen to alot of Death Metal, but I'll toss out a few band names...
Amon Amarth
Arch Enemy
Death
Jungle Rot
That's all I could maybe do and all can have some faster songs which I assume would be good for running.
If it's other stuff, more straight up metal, I would start saying like thrash and faster heavy metal bands.
Judas Priest
Megadeth
Slayer
Metallica
Anthrax
Annihilator
Testament
Overkill
Motorhead
I mean, that's stuff I'd run to lol |

How about Industrial Metal? I find that some of the faster Industrial metal songs can be intense for running.
bands like KMFDM, Rammstein, Ministry & Fear Factory. _________________

Rammstein is a pretty good choice.
As for some other metal (some that I can name right off hand)
Metallica
Children of Bodom
Judas Priest
Megadeth
Abnormality
Five Finger Death Punch
Godsmack
Bullet For My Valentine
Lots others, too...I personally would say Bullet For My Valentine. |

I would probably say Five Finger Death Punch. Really, most of the bands already listed would be good choices though. |

Thanks for the suggestions everyone I highly doubt I will get all 40 artists on his ipod right, but if I can go in with a good handful of bands to put down and get a few right, I think I'll be fairly happy! I don't even need the bonus points, but the more bonus points I get on my tests, the more homework I can skip. lol |

It doesn't even have to be death metal.
For instance, I could run to Whole lotta Rosie by AC/DC & a LOT of Rise Against songs. (Oh yeah...Hammerhead by the Offspring that is another.) _________________

Well, I asked him if it was mainly death metal and he said yeah. He also said he had other just metal bands on there too though. |

I'd like to thank you guys for the song choices. I took my test today and was able to remember 28 different bands which is pretty good for someone that doesn't listen to the metal genre. I made out a list before class of 30 bands that he might listen to and just kept going over them. A few people told me he likes to listen to Lady Gaga, so I added her to the list as well. lol Anyways, remembering 28 of the 30 wasn't too bad. I forgot Between the Buried and Me and some other band that I can't remember right now.
But anyways, I'll let you guys know how well I did when I get the results back on Friday
EDIT: Just remembered, Rammstein was the other one I forgot! |

I have Hammerhead as well as Rise Against's Drones and Prayer for the Refugee on my running playlist. Great songs to run to.
It seems this thread was more of a "what's on my teach'er iPod" thread than a "what metal songs would you listen to while running" thread. However, I'll give a few of my favorites:
Pantera - Mouth for War
Dispatched - Final Countdown (Cover)
Papa Roach - Blood Brothers
Shadows Fall - Burning the Lives
Trivium - Like Light to Flies
Rammstein - Du Hast
As I Lay Dying - The Sound of Truth
Bullet for my Valentine - Last to Know
In Flames - Leeches
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Free Bird (Actually finished my marathon with the solo blasting in my headphones. AWESOME moment. _________________

It's ok, this thread can now turn into a "music you run to" thread. lol I still got a good handful of bands from this thread even though not all were death metal. I usually only listen to stuff from the 60s/70s, but I want to start running and need to start compiling some kind of list myself. I might have to move to a newer era of music to get some tunes/bands that pump you up. |
