Left handed guitar question

Hey, real quick question, if I were to build a guitar where the whammy bar is set on the left side of the guitar would it be considered cheating? I've been wanting to do this project for awhile and I want to know if it's technically tournament legal to do.

If the tournament doesn't allow you to mod your guitar (most likely bring your own), it would be cheating. I'd go ahead and do it for homeplay and small tournament play.
