I've been trying for a FGFC of GHVH on Expert Bass, and I've already FCd every song that can remotely be considered hard except Loss of Control and Mean Street. (ItO, TT, HfT, PK). Loss of Control I can get with some effort, but I've tried and tried to hit Mean Street and I just can't do it. There are two main problems I have. The first is the verse riff. I've tried altstrumming it and upstrumming it, and while I'm fairly consistent at it, I want to be consistent enough to where I won't mess up on it. There's also the outro riff, which is even easier but REPEATS SO MUCH. I need some tips to FC this. Note that I've tried ounting out notes (2 red 4 green 3 open, etc.). _________________

If you are using the hammer-ons/pull-offs instead of strumming everything, be sure not to strum the red pull-offs that are persistent in both of those sections. I noticed the orange strum, followed by an open note pull-off and then a blue pull-off into a red pull-off, followed by the red strums. Make sure you aren't strumming those reds too early, allowing time for the red pull-off to pass. That is the sort of thing that used to plague me in sections like that. However, the song is slow enough that you should be able to focus on that and find your way to the FC. Apart from that, I would see if a mixed technique of using alternate strumming, using the HO/PO's, and strumming everything could work for you.
Other than that, I would take the outro into practice, and just repeat it over and over and over and over and over. Get tired of it, then repeat it 15 more times. Don't stop until you are super consistent with it, then go back for an FC attempt. Good luck! _________________
