I was always curious about which bands rejected being in Guitar Hero and Rock Band until it started becoming more successful. Obviously, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd never happened and most likely never will unless some miracle happens. But there were other bands that took this approach until they finally caved.
When GH1 first came out, there wasn't a whole ton of faith in the franchise from a lot of bands' perspective, so I can totally see why they would reject the offer or why Harmonix couldn't afford some of them. I remember for the longest time AC/DC, Metallica, and the Beatles were NEVER going to be in a music game, it was like a pipe dream. Then they finally caved after they saw how successful it is and how they can get more of their music out there, and by this point Harmonix had made a ton of money from the huge success of the second game.
What other bands were completely against the idea of being in Guitar Hero and/or Rock Band that eventually caved?
If this counts
The jimi hendrix estate didn't want them to cover jimi hendrixs voice, so they used an instrumental cover of Spanish castle magic. _________________
