so i have a list of movies in the A collum

and i need a formila to count how mant movies i have

so i need it to cound EVERYTHING entered into collum a then subtract 1

i have no idea how to do this or maby like a1 to a500 if you can't to the whole a thing

shit! i don't have excel on this PC! do you need it immediately? i can have a formula for you on monday if you want to wait, but i don't know off the top of my head.

I'm confused... can't you just scroll down and see how many entries there are in Column A since the left axis is numbered?

Otherwise just stick in a column that isn't A:
=COUNT(A1:A65536)-1

so i didn't start at 1

well subtract another 4 to compensate for fields 1-4

i don't have anything entered their

i just need it to count EVERY cell that has somthing in it whitch would be movie names in the "A" collum THEN subtract one, if if you can't subtract 1 then from A5 to A100

Maybe a simple command like:

=SUM(A1:A500)-1

would work, for example.

I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to do with your spreadsheet, but that's the only advice I can offer.

your ALMOST works.. yours will count how mant times numbers are entered

i need like now mant cells are filled in i think

I don't know much about Excel, but the wiki is usually a good place to start looking.
