Say bye to DxWnd and 3DA (unless you don't want VSync) because about a year and a half ago, I was able to patch the game to disable D3D from going in fullscreen, in addition to making the window resize based on the resolution you set.

By simply patching a value required for a D3D structure, and replacing some window function code to make a window, voila!

Though this game has still died down like the forum, I thought I'd want to share this because I hate when games force fullscreen or default to it, and I'm going back to working on a mod of this game soon that's an infinitely more accessible version of the game.

GH3 is extremely dead, but this would have been nice to know back in the day. Sometimes I think that GH2 hacking is more popular than GH3 hacking nowadays, because almost everyone that would have cared about GH3 is now running Clone Hero instead.

At least please tell me youre not putting GH3 in the Windows folder anymore

Hopefully you keep us up to date about this mod! Would be fascinating to see more about it. I guarantee at least one person will be keen about it.

Sidenote update, just shifted GH3+ to run on a better No-CD executable, with this window hack, along with download here
https://github.com/donnaken15/GH3-Plus/releases/tag/0.6f

I plan to also make a script or application to make patching GH3+ into the game more portable with other GH3 executables and No-CD fixes to have these things (though basically only two exist for 1.31)
