Here's my current path for this song (netted me 399K with two misses in the crazy trill bit)
Durations of star power are not necessarily accurate, as I'm working from memory, BUT the activation points are correct.
The Trooper - SP

Need to practice those chords. Is the path the same for hard? Might help me eak out a 5 star...
(OT, but is there anywhere else on the site I can get the note charts or do I have to browse through the forum?) |

If you're going for the FC, I think it'll be slightly better combine the SP's at 102 and 109, activating on the trill, than to use 102's on measure 105. _________________

You are absolutely correct - the better path to use is to wait for 2 SP phrases (after the first descenging trill bit), and activate on the crazy trills.
Thereafter, you get 3 more and activate immediately (in the gallopy it at the end)
Unfortunately, if you can't hit the trills (and, judging by my complete failure to do so despite many attempts, I'm guessing few can), then the path I posted will net you more points! |

I've gotten the trills once, count it once, plus the crazy 6 notes after the trill(which is the real hard part). I did it in front of my brother and i was like wow, and paused the game. I changed my trill technique for these. |

Any tips on switching to the quick and chords in verse 1b and the like?
I've been lost in practice trying to get it down but to no avail. _________________

For that riff, start the first gallop on a downstrum. For the switch (or the one that skips down to GY), keep your head thinking you're still doing a gallop of GGG for the GG RB, as it is still 3 in a row, just you have to change your fingering on the downstrum. Then, finger BO as 34, RB as 13, and slide up to YO as 13 (or slide down to GY if that's the one).
For the part of the riff in which it goes instead, hold 3 on Y and 1 on G, and just slide your hand position up when the chord change comes - your fingers are already in place. Hope this was somewhat helpful. _________________

Yeah, wuLFe, I just 4 starred this song, its kind of a toughy, but i still cannot get the main riff with the mini trills, its a tricky part. Also, for some reason i did a bad run on Free Bird yesterday (when i got the game) and I 5 starred it, I couldnt believe it! As i said, i just got this game yesterday and i just beat it on expert last night. |

Dunno if people know this or not, but using Wulfe's path (well, the solo path) is better for people who *can't* activate on the trills. As in, you might be scared of missing when you activate. If you are kinda scared of missing, use the SP you get after measure 104 and use it next note (the long red sustain), and then after the solo, use SP on the 2nd red.
Using this path with an FC will get you 2k less than the optimal path, so it's not *that* bad. I have 409.8k with an FC of this path, and 410.4k is possible as I missed the first nearly-ideal squeeze (400 points + ticks) and I missed a squeeze after the solo (the orange in measure 129). So for those who are kinda superstitious I guess of missing when activating, use this path. |

I'm SO close to FCing this! Those stupid, super fast trills are the only thing I can't get! _________________
