How do you practice?

How do you practice when you're specifically trying to improve your skills on Guitar Hero? Do you play a series of specific songs? Or play one select song that best helps you develop the particular skill (alt.strum, accuracy, HOs, etc.) you're trying to develop? Or do you have some other method?

And I'm not talking about the people trying to reach that 7* on that one song. I mean before you were at that level, when you were still trying to consistantly get 5* on the Fret-Burner/Face-Melter songs.

Well, AS one of those people who is trying to consistently 5-star the Face-melters, I can say that the easiest way to practice a skill would probably go under these.

Accuracy
Texas Flood

Lots of chords/chord changes
I Wanna Be Sedated
Unsung

Alt Strumming
The Breaking Wheel
Bark at the Moon
Cowboys from Hell

HO's/PO's
Frankenstein
Texas Flood

...So yeah...this is what I do.

when i'm haveing troble on a song on medium i go to hard and play the song, and after i get my ass handed to me about 5 times i can usualy do REALY good on medium

i think that a great song for learning how to alternate strum is take me out. it may not be the easiest to listen to, but its got some pretty easy changes.

My relax song is 'Sail your ship by', is it just me that gets reminded of the old sonic games (or some sort of old game) near the end of that song?

edit: ES, current number of peanut butter sandwiches eaten (to my knowledge) - 0 (I guess I'm not average)

It actually reminds me of the Electric Light parade at Disneyland, but maybe that's just me.

I play trippolette on expert a few times, to see how long i can last.

From there, I'm usually warmed up for anything.

Cheat on the Church is a great way to practice everything.

It has.....

the technique section at the beginning.
Some really fast chord changes.
A wicked solo that no one can get yet.
a nice little part for HO's PO's.
and the section towards the end that needs 2x strumming.

Everything you need.

I have to agree with quackadilly on this one. COC is one of the best songs to practice on. Plus, the extra practice makes you look even cooler for that song.

I've gotten to the point that I can hit every note in the intro section every time.
