Az's "The End is Near" tour

With the clock winding down on GH1 before the sequel arrives, it's time to make one last run at all the songs, to accomplish what I can and to see where I can finish before I put the game aside, only to come back to for nostalgia's sake.

Since I don't play every day, and because there are only 40ish days remaining, I'm going to name 2 songs per "day" that I'm going to work on. Generally one of the easier songs and one of the harder songs, but more or less random whims on actual selection. After 23-24 days of playing/posting, that should finish them all. Feel free to work on them with me. This is an open invitation to anyone who wants to participate.

For anyone who participates, this rivalry will not be measured by final score, but by improvement. The closer you can get to the top score compared to your old score, percentage-wise, the better. (Your old score is 120k, top score is 200k, you improve to 160 -- that's 50%.) This is so everyone can feel like they can be a part of the challenge. If I wanted to be anal and make this a true competition, I could shoot off some rules, but the point is to have fun and enjoy the race to the finish.

Hopefully, by the time the game comes out, we'll have been able to tour every song in the game, and each be able to say that we've done all we were able to do with the song before GH2 came out.

Someone asked me how to do the percentages, so here's your handy quick-reference:

(New score - Old score) / (High score - Old score), times 100 to get percent.

Don't feel like you HAVE to do the math, though. Just posting new score / old score would be good.

Nice gain on Decontrol, thorpe. Better than I could pull off last night. Consistency was not my friend.

OK, so, um, I'm going to pick two new songs, but feel free to work on the old ones and catch up. I'll probably skip a day at some point. How about...

I wouldn't be surprised if I had no improvement on a few of these, but I hope that won't happen for a bit yet.

My CotC score went from really pathetic to only moderately pathetic. Take Me Out, though, I could have gone all the way to the top if I could just get those damn grace notes.
