I have successfully put Trippolette in the OPM GH2 Demo in place of Shout at the Devil, but theres just one problem. I don't understand how to make note files and I can't get it to work because my note file isn't right. What I did was just copy the notes information from GH1 Trippolette over onto the Shout at the Devil notes information, (only the guitar note track) but it didn't work, all it does is when the ps2 controller is in it immediately ends the song after the frets pop up and the hud items come onscreen and shows this screen. http://img83.imageshack.us/img83/2457/snap001vj2.jpg
When the Guitar is plugged in it just freezes at that same spot. I was really hoping if anyone who understands how to read and edit the GH2 note information or just how to convert if needed a GH1 Note file to GH2, (I'm pretty sure Riff understands the GH2 note files, if he'll help) I tried figuring out how to read and edit them to no avail as of yet, considering I havn't even been able to do it with GH1 yet... ). Tried with Midi Maestro but couldn't figure it out (actually what I used to copy the note track from Trippolette to Shout. I might be able to do it if someone can show me or I can figure out how to use Midi Maestro for it, if GH2 can work with it also, because I hear that its the best for editing or creating notes on GH1. The song works with the normal Shout at the Devil note file, it plays it without problems (Trippolette ends a little while before Shout notes end). Well, I guess I'm off to play around with Midi Maestro for a while and try to figure it out, if anyone can help please do Once I get the notes working I'll probably shortly after post a video if anyone is interested.

Riff's topic with the ARK and VGS details shows everything known so far that is different between GH1 and GH2.

I'm working on a custom notefile for a custom song, I just need to do something with the other tracks. I have the basic note pattern down, I think.

I think I'm starting to get it now...I didn't look under events before... . I have a question, do you know of a way to change the tempo after the event is made? I need to make the tempo for all of the events 206 instead of 94.
Ok, it wont let me save, it says
"Access to Scroll the view
Scroll was denied."
I can't figure out whats wrong.
nvm, I fixed it. My pc needed rebooted... . I think I'm finished, testing now...be back soon with the results.

Congratulations - playing Trippolette with the GH2 engine would be awesome - FCable even, methinks

Man, we have a lot of heroes here that aren't only Guitar Heroes. Good job, Ky. I'd love to see a walkthrough of how you extracted the song (.vag and .mid) if you get a chance.

Edit: I'd like to eventually do Master of Puppets for GH2 co-op. That's a long term goal, of course... All you have to do for the guitar parts is take a Guitar Pro tab for tempo and note timing and convert the notes to midi and in the pattern you think it represents.

Huwonk, sounds really good, I might try that with some stuff on GH2 Demo because now that I have I prefer them on it. Getting the files out was pretty easy, all I did was use Game Extractor, someone mentioned this program could somewhat play with the GH .ark, and it also works with the GH2 Demo .ark, so thats what I started with. On topic I have yet to make a video of this because my pc isn't good enough pretty much and either the video was scrambled or the sound was too slow or fast on them. If anyone knows of good capture software and could tell me please do, I searched a little, but wanted to get back to this. I do however have screenshots from an emulator for anyone who would like to see. I have them for Trippolette...and another song I put in...Bark at the Moon which I replaced YYZ with.

Now that you have this stuff down, how about you try to make a new song? Or if you would prefer, try adding the second player track to one of the GH1 songs (like add the bassline to Higher Ground)

Good job at getting this to work though, I don't think I'll start adding my own songs into GH2 til I start to get bored with the songs that come with it. We'll see how addicting this little hobby gets though, I may end up putting my own songs in more than playing the original game!

Wow...that thought never occured to me until now, but you actually could pull off a Total Notes screen for those songs now.

Awesome job KyPuppy. Nice to see that Riff doesn't have a COMPLETE monopoly on GH hackery.

that was actually one of things I did think about (like if that worked for GH I'd just sit there and watch it FC all the face melters) can you do that with all the remaining none FC'd songs?

The only problem with that is that it would have to be an absolutely perfect transcription of the notes...technically, the note charts would make it pretty easy, but human error could still theoretically get in the way. I'm sure JC would want a GH1 results screen as conclusive evidence for Total Note charts.

I can guarantee they are exact...I took them from GH1 and made no changes to the guitar track, if I could make a good video of it I would and show you, I probably will soon once I find a good program for it. I now have Get Ready 2 Rokk on there. For those of you wanting it heres the BatM clear screen. Mr. Green

I wanna try to figure out what makes the demo play the song and try to add it to GH1, but thats a side thing.
About the cutoffs, I'm not sure at the moment, I'll have to get back to you on that, but I'll definetly check.

Question, does the 5* cutoff remain for YYZ or is it BatM's? I'm just curious to see if the program itself figures out what the cutoffs are.
